Comment:

VERY test heavy (25%, 30%, 30%). Tests were all multiple choice, 40 questions. Harvey was a nice professor when I talked to her outside of class. First day though she scared us with "half of you are going to fail the first exam." So,obviously I was not a fan in the beginning. You NEED the textbook for inter 1&2. Study the slides given for the exams

Comment:

Prepare to do a lot of studying and reading the textbook before each exam (3 exams, heavily weighted). Nice woman who has a lot of energy during her lectures. Make sure you keep up, she goes fast. Overall, not as tough as advertised as long as you're willing to put in a lot of work on your own and reach out to her if you are struggling.

I took Harvey for Auditing. The exams are open-book which literally saves you. She skims over the power point slides and doesn't spend much time actually teaching. Group project isn't hard, just stay organized and put in the effort.

Comment:

Professor Harvey is a highly underrated teacher. Her class is straight lecture but she really cares about her students, and will take extreme measures to prepare them for exams. Get to know her and form a relationship with her and she will help you out whenever she can.

I have now taken Harvey for cost accounting and now for Auditing. One thing that sticks out in my mind about her is how her lectures have nothing to do with what is on the test. She will cancel roughly 4 classes throughout the semester resulting in work having to be done at home. This is a prime example of the poor quality of Ramapo professors.

She is a really nice lady. She didn't collect hw this semester (she did the previous semester ) but its still good to do. She will give like 20-30 minute breaks most of the time for her 3 hr classes. We get out early a lot of the times. Her tests are hard BUT you HAVE to read the textbook if u want to do well. Her questions come from there

She is the least clear prof in Ramapo.Very unorganized, u learn nothing from her class cause she just rambles everything.does not give ans online just for few mins in class.Avoid her at all cost if u love ur self, had to take her for Cost acctng cause she was the only on that taught it,but if u can avoid at all cost esp acctng majors.

If you don't mind sitting in class for 3 hours a session and learning absolutely nothing, then teaching yourself the material on your spare time. Then she is just the right teacher for you! Otherwise I suggest RUN AWAY, Professor is unorganized, cannot effectively explain concepts, talks about unrelated personal issues.

Gives three exams and a final which accounts for, get it...accounts for, 94% of your grade and the other 6% is class participation and attendance. She knows her stuff and she is a CPA. Do not take if you are an accounting major because tests are MC and there is not really any number crunching involved. Finance majors learn what they need though.

I'm an accounting major and understand this subject quite well but Harvey is a horrible teacher. She does not give good notes and is confusing while trying to teach the content. The semester for managerial accounting I learned nothing. if you are planning on being a Accounting major, avoid her for financial. You need that info for Intermediate.

Seemed very confused when trying to explain something to us.. Not clear and always talks about her personal life. Very unorganized, horrible lectures. Too much hw (not graded btw). Only cancelled twice on us.. Nice lady, cant teach tho. Take someone else definitely.

Horrible professor. Nice lady, but does not know how to teach. Gave us a million problems a week for homework, yet never collected them. Just showed us the answers, with little or no explanation. 3 tests that were hard and does not curve or give any extra credit, even when most of the class failed the second exam..Stay away from this professor!!!

Harvey is a mess..extremely disorganized. Her notes for a chapter would be a topic followed by a page number. If you want to learn cost accounting, don't take her class...but if you want a relatively easy grade, go for it.

She was present every scheduled class for my section...so I'm not sure what the others were talking about. Very nice. Does talk about her personal life though. Work related stories are relavant. Disorganized lecturer. I think she might have ADD. However, if you have problems, she'll make the time to help you. Oh yeah, tests are always Mult. choice.

Easy class. You can do whatever you want. Listen or don't. Stuff is mostly simple calculations with easy formulas. Tests are fully multiple choice. Gives extra credit. Almost no graded assignments (except for occasional HW).

Class cancelled every week. Seems unlikely, but true. It depends on whether or not she feels like coming in. Personal life rules over teaching life. Spends half the class telling stories and excuses as to why she was not in last week. Does not teach the material at all. You're on your own. Unorganized. The study guide is your best friend.

I think she might have been nice...but it was kind of hard to tell considering she was hardly ever in class. And when she did decide to show up to class, she is like the fastest talker ever and doesn't explain it well. IF you dare to take this class, it's all about doing the study guides and reading the chapters. She cared less than the students.
