Comment:

Although the class was really boring and required a lot of my time, Prof. Zegarski always answered my emails within a day and was a fair grader. Taking an online class, that's about as much as you need to have a decent experience. I would recommend her for the Intro to Computers class; if you do the work and ask questions, you will pass.

With all due respect this is by far the worse teacher I have encountered since probably middle school. She is not clear on half of her assignments or grading, and she makes everything harder than it has to be. Like someone previously said I shouldn't have to pay $300 to read me a $150 book. I could do that myself. She was no help.

By far the absolute WORST professor I've had at the college. Seems to only read straight from the book. If I wanted to do that, I could do it at home without her shrill voice. Claims our work is late and never said we could hand it in the day we did. Knocked 9% off my grade for non-existent error while my code was the same as someone who for 100%.

Comment:

Completely unprofessional. Obviously does not know the subject matter. Condescending when asked questions. If one were to wait to the last minute to throw together a lesson play and put the least amount of effort in it, you would produce similar results to what she is offering.

Professor Z is very knowledgeable of the subject material, learned a lot from this course. Relies heavily on the book, but is a decent grader. Attendance is key to this course because she does in class assignments that can't be made up. Lots of class discussions & alone work time. Over all experience was decent.

She is just about the worst professor I have encountered. I have taken many computer courses and was motivated to work hard and was so impressed with the teacher I did the best I could. Mary is a disaster. She does not know fully about the subject. She relies to heavily on the book which goes from the basics to advanced in 2 weeks. So disappointed.

Prof Z is very knowledgeable on the subject matter, she teaches heavily from the book examples however she does explain complex items well. The HW is also from the book and every week. Her grading criteria is extremely fair. You need to be in class. If you attend, pay attention, and do the HW you will do well in the course.

I seriously don't understand why there are so many negative reviews here. I think Mary is a fantastic professor. The course material may be tough, but she knows what she's talking about and can explain it well. She's always available for help or clarification, and her grading is fair. I would definitely recommend her.

Aaw man what can I say about this professor. She was tough on grading, took off seven points for one grammar mistake. Almost failed her class, The grades she puts on blackboard were not accurate, you should ask her to clarify her grading policy. Class was boring, didn't pay attention to her, my computer was more appealing. Overall epic fail

She is absolutely terrible. she cant teach this kid is like teaching it for her. she grades like a 3 year old. her voice gives you migranes. her homework is not anything like she talked about in class. she dosent know anything about teaching what she does. she cant respond to emails. dont take her save urself troubles..

This teacher has stated MANY times-she has 10 year. If you want to seriously learn programming go to another college. She teaches many of the programming classes at NCC. Teaches by reading from powerpoints, gives hw that doesn't relate to chapters. She can't help you with hw b/c she doesn't understand it herself. I would NEVER EVER recommend her.

I took this class online, with weekend labs. I've taken other courses this way with no problem, but this course seemed harder to take through distance learning. I found that the tests did not reflect what I felt had been focused on in the coursework.

Deffinately the worst person in the whole world that i have ever met. Every single person in my class hated her and her grading. I have never hated a class or teacher so much. Go to another school before taking a class from her. You will want to die. If there is one person in the world that does not deserve to live...here she is.

Professor Z, was one very helpful Professor throughout the Spring on-line semester. Helpful when confused with assignments. Always returned mails in fashionable manner. If you do your work you will get a good grade. Final was simple to help all students boost their grade. I enjoyed the on line class.

If you want to have the worst semester in ur life then take her class, she is very useless, pointless, not helpful, very unfair grading, she can't spell anything right, always ending up with errors with her exercises, do not take this class, u will be stressed out for the whole semester.

Professor, was very helpful with on line classes when came to confusion of Excel assignment.Always gave extra time to finish the work. Work was fairly easy and the discussion forum was fun. She was active with the on line students. I can not complain. She was fair and always wrote back on her e-mails. If you do the work she ask's. You will be fine.

I would avoid taking her... Lectures suck (her voice is annoying) and they are everyday. Lots of assignments that she doesnt grade fairly. When you want to get help she can rarely offer you usefull help. but someone should explain how shes the head of the department.......................
