Her class is really boring. She is very strict and very hard to talk to. A lot of people dropped out of this class. Grade is based off exams, the midterm, and the final. She drops the lowest exam score. Extra credit is up to 10 points. No hw. Her study guides often help. I do not highly recommend this professor only if your willing to study hard!

Seems good in the first 2 weeks then starts to slack off on notes & lecturing & shows pointless videos & articles in class instead. Very strict. No homework, possible extra credit for a futile 10 points. Grade is based solely on exams, midterm, & final. Study guides are vague & unhelpful. I would run far away from this class & don't look back.

Very unhelpful. Never teaches instead she has students do group work that is insignificant to the class. I have a 4.0 and she is the only class at mtsac I hated.

This teacher is very hard and demanding. The tests are difficult and the overall grade is solely based off of tests. No homework, no quizzes, no extra credit, just tests. She has favorites and is very strict about attendance and cell phones. Not very approachable or friendly. Would not recommend unless you already know this subject material.

If you're not much of a reader and you simply don't have the time necessary to put all you efforts in this class I SERIOUSLY don't recommend you taking this professor. She doesn't give hw, the exams are based more on the book than on the notes.

I took Prof. Mackey spring 2010 and she was difficult! She is very passionate at what she does. As long as you attend her class you will be fine. It may not be an amusing class, but you do learn something. Just go by the study guide!! No homework but study early IT HELPS!

took during spring..gives studyguides and its ALL in da book..complete studyguide and review once and u'll do fine...review 3 times and A+ baby!!gave opportunity for XtraCrdit..up to u to attend class..Prof Sparks-Mackey is very passionate about poli. u will benefit from dis class bcuz most of us dont kno s*** about politics..

Doctor Mackey was a fantastic teacher in making the course interesting. However i think she fell short in that her lectures didn't help whatsoever for the exam; going to class is not required to pass. The exams themselves are very difficult so many hours of copious studying from the textbook is needed.

Most interesting professor! People who say she is hard, those are the ones who want an A handed to them and just purely lazy. There are 5 exams which she gives you study guides for, study it and a guaranteed A. Drops the lowest. Class can be very boring but not mandatory, just study the study guide she hands out. EASY group word done in one day.
