Comment:

I took her course online and ended up withdrawing. She makes it hard to locate resources she asks you to look at. I think she gives the same assignments as she does her on campus students as we were given fill-the-blank note guides for lectures we had no clue about. Shes late to respond to emails and there is ALOT of writing and reading.

Comment:

Professor Hargraves was a great instructor. After being out of college for nearly 15 years I felt a little afraid to enter an English class. Professor Hargraves took time to teach so that you can learn. I took a hybrid class so the workload was heavy but very beneficial. This class was not hard. As long as you do your work you will pass.

DO NOT take Melody Hargraves as a professor for any class. She grades too hard and has NO mercy what so ever. Her name should be HARDgrades instead of Hargraves because of how hard she really grades . She's NOT the clearest on instructions either. If you do choose to take her, well lets just say you have been warned.

Best English professor at St Johns. Take her take her take her. You will not regret the decision. She is extremely helpful if you have any issues during the semester. Makes class interesting. Tough grammar grader though.

This class was fairly easy. I had a very high "B" up until the final exam. The tests were easy and she did not assign a huge research paper like Morgan does. I did not like how she grades the essays because she doesnt tell you what you need to improve on. Also, at the end of the semester we had to remember 15 lines from Hamlet. Take her for LIT2000

One of my favorite teachers thus far. Mrs. Hargraves knows her stuff and she loves teaching. She speaks clearly, is always willing to help, and allows class to be fun. Even if you don't enjoy English, you'll get credit if you make an attempt.

Comment:

She really loves literature and that helps. The class was pretty easy if you actually read the assignments. Consistent test format made it easy to review for tests. Plenty of extra credit opportunities but you won't need them if you do your work. It was a fun class and she has a good sense of humor.

She was tough but she explained everything as clearly as possible. There were opportunities for extra credit that helped you study for the quizzes. She was fair in grading. The class was always entertaining. I will take her again for other English classes!!

I love the way she reads to us when in class, it makes me want to read my self. I was not so interested in reading before I had her. She makes me change my view of reading......This teacher is excellent.

Prof Hargraves is tough, but the right kind of tough, she requires you to know the work. She gives extra credit, if the class in general makes low scores on tests she will give chances to improve grades. I really enjoyed her class!
