Professor Lyons' class was really enjoyable. Though I'm someone who understands math pretty fast, he is awesome in the way he teaches the material for students who aren't so good. He grades his tests pretty fairly. He focuses more on your work than your answers which I loved.

I took Professor Lyons for both intermediate Algebra and college algebra and made an A in both classes. He teaches exactly what you need to know to pass the class. Making it as simple as possible. His test questions cover the basic principles taught during class. No hard or tricky questions. Attend class, take notes, study and you will make an A.

Mr. Lyons is awesome. Any time I had trouble in his class, I would go to his office and he would spend well over an hour working problems with me. He is a big reason I chose engineering as my degree.

Lyons is a pretty nice teacher. His reviews for the tests are the best. He goes over exactly what is going to be on the test and what order it will be in. I receive As and Bs on the first five tests. The final exam (last test) was pretty difficult. I would highly recommend anyone to take him, instead of Donovan.

I am terrible at algebra. I have failed intermediate twice in the past 3 years. Took Lyons for Intermediate and passed with an A last semester and took him for College Algebra in summer and got another A. He knows algebra and how to teach it!!

I've long thought that I was unteachable in the math department. But Mr. Lyons proved me wrong. His classes aren't easy by any measure. But he has a way of explaining everything just right and he really cares about his students. He's the best teacher at SJRCC (hands down).
