Comment:

One of the funniest, kindest dudes on the planet. Very knowledgeable on just about everything. Loves to tell stories about his pets, past job experiences, and future predictions on his own time. He can be a tough a grader, but just understand what he is looking for and ull do fine. Also read the syllabus and EVERY quiz carefully for some extra crdt

Dr. Forman is by far one of the best professors I have ever had. He may seem intimidating on the first day, but he is very reasonable. He gives detailed feedback on the assignments he assigns. He is passionate about what he teaches, which makes the materials so much easier to learn.

Comment:

Dr. Forman is brilliant. This class intimidated me at first, but his lectures were incredible and highly thought-provoking despite the material being dense. He is by far the most inspirational professors I've ever had at UW, and I have learned so much from his class. I highly recommended him if you want to get your moneys worth!

Comment:

Dr. Forman is an amazing PoliSci professor. He is engaging, and made a boring topic more interesting. You have pop quizzes, only 4 questions. You have two essay exams, which he gives you the questions & he picks one at random. You have a final, & its based off of the pop quizzes. He's taught me a lot, although a tough course.

Comment:

Dr. Forman's lectures are inspiring, informative, and high energy. He assigns pop quizzes at random to make sure his students are doing the readings but the texts are incredibly interesting. He definitely pushes his students but if you put in the work and open up your mind you will do just fine. He is truly passionate about what he teaches.

Dr. Forman is a tremendous lecturer and lets the class lead discussions when need be - definitely come prepared and do not be afraid to ask questions! Lots of books for this class and be prepared for old english.. Syllabus says there can be many pop quizzes and numerous on any given day - my class has had 4. Nonetheless, definitely do the reading.

This class had an interesting viewpoint, and he taught it in a good way. This class was average at best because of a couple things. 1) He did not use a grading template, and I found out my grade the day they were posted on my transcript 2) If you aren't a top student in this class, approaching him is very hard and left me feeling belittled.

Get ready to read multiple books for the class. Expect pop quizzes based off your reading or podcast. Tests are blue book essay based and he expects you to apply your knowledge in your own words. Grades very critically on the blue book tests. No papers were written in this class.

I can't stress enough how great it is that he is loud and assertive during lectures. As someone with pretty severe adhd, a professor that shows up on time, is prepared for class, and is assertive and active is invaluable. I would choose professors like him every time if I could. His tests are hard but that's typical of a 355 class.

Very interesting lectures and viewpoints. Has extensive knowledge in his field. Teaches political theories in very interesting and contemporary stance. Would take him again. Gives two essay tests, some pop quizzes so be ready for those, and he loves to use the white board and is seen usually in the middle of class.

Fantastic teacher, helped students grasp the core concepts surrounding not just human rights but a birds eye view of international governance surrounding the current HR regime. Quality content and very positive learning experience.

Great professor. Gives impassioned lectures, covers more than just the basic material. Class is simply reviewing primary sources (Hobbes, onward). Blue books and other work is fairly easy, but where this all falls apart is his grading scale - A's were not given and the next possible grade is an 83. Avoid if you value your GPA. Otherwise, have fun!

Dr. Forman is fantastic! his lectures can be a little dry but VERY informative and helpful. the subject is super interesting and he really cares if your grasping it or not. He doesn't take attendance but I HIGHLY suggest you don't miss any classes his tests are kind of scary, but if you attend class and pay attention you'll be ok

Great class and great professor. Dr. Forman was interesting and even funny. He was very engaging and his lectures were ALWAYS interesting. the textbook was horrible but the extra readings were good and Dr. Forman's lectures made up for the poor textbook.
