Very enthusiastic about class material. The class is very material heavy at the beginning of the semester but lightens up after the first test. Does give extra credit and while attendance isn't mandatory there are pop quizzes. Would highly recommend him as a professor!!

I honestly can't say anything bad here, its an easy A. I took Russian Fairy tales for fun and I'm glad I did. It was relaxing, but somehow I learned a lot. He is so helpful and, though, sometimes lectures can get a bit dry, overall he was interesting and inspiring. He is really educated and truly passionate about the material and that truly shows!

Professor Gorham was a pretty good professor; not a super tough grader but his exams are 80% of your grade. He does provide study guides for each test which are really helpful. The material is not that boring, it could be a lot worse. Good for a Humanities credit.

AMAZING professor! The course material is very interesting, and you read books that are directly related with the course material. HE KNOWS HIS STUFF, his knowledge on Russia is incredible, and he really teaches you in a great and understandable way. Attendence not mandatory, but you should go to the lectures; they're fun!

Dr. Gorham is a decent prof. The tests are worth a total of 80% of your grade, but aren't that hard. READ EVERYTHING AND ATTEND CLASS. He explains everything and will help you if you need it. The only thing I hated is his George Bush face and how in love with himself he is. If you are interested in Russia, take him. If not, find something else.

Nice guy and an interesting class (Russian Fairytales). It is a bit scary to have only had two tests, making up 90% of the grade. He clearly tells you what's expected of you and what you need to know. Easy class.

He was really nice and super interesting, especially considering my zero interest in Russian Fairy Tales going into the course. This is a great humanitites class to take, and it's pretty easy to get an A. He gives complete study guides about a week before the exams that are extremely helpful. Take this class!

Great class! At times it felt like story time! Lot's of information, but as long as you can connect it all, not a hard class. Worth taking for an elective, pretty interesting. Great professor, knowledgeable, fun, interesting.

I thought RUT3504 was useful for a Russian major. Fairly easy considering the amount of information that gets presented. You HAVE to read the books and jhave a fairly decent understanding, but he does help lead the disussions a bit. Tests are super easy just study the review he hands out the week prior. Most books are actually interesting & fun.

Prof Gorham is awesome! I had him for RUS1130 too, and he is one of my favorite professors. RUT3514 was a little boring, but not too bad, and RUS1130 was awesome. I'm now double-majoring in Russian b/c of this man! He's also pretty hot for a middle-aged guy. You need the books, though, and attendance is mandatory.

His classes are clearly not meant to be hard at all, very laid back and discussion style. He gives out study guides of what exactly is going to be on the test and holds a review session answering said study guide so as long as you have the basic idea of the reading, have marginal critical thinking skills and study for 30 minutes its an easy A.

I'm a Russian major; thought the class was boring. If you want to understand Russian culture, go to Russia. End of story. Dr Gorham is a smart guy, though I get the feeling that he's somewhat in love with himself and that to him, students are more of an audience than a class. But that's a minor criticism, and the class isn't hard if you show up.

Comment:
He lives in an ivory tower, and is unwilling to work with students who have non-school related responsibilities. He tends to feel that his classes should be his student's top priorities, and often makes very time consuming assignments, which he doesn't often modify inspite of complaints.
