Along with everyone else, I love Professor Griffith. Humble about his own work (unlike some other writer-professors), always well prepared, goes out of his way to say hello to his students or wish them to have a great day/weekend. Just a super nice guy and gives great feedback. Terrible handwriting but he knows it and it's honestly just endearing.

I may be one of the first to say something negative. I found he ran hot and cold. First I was a great writer, then not so much, but that wasn't explicitly indicated. I got copious praise from him for my work - and then also received my lowest grade ever for a writing class (for the same work!) Nice guy, but confusing teacher. Never again.

No one has anything negative to say about Michael Griffith as a teacher, a writer, or a good person. He is incredibly knowlegeable, gregarious and open to his students. He is also humble, rarely talking about his own work except to relate to a problem or conflict class is discussing in writing, though his work is brilliant.

Come to class and expect your writing to improve. If you put forth the effort, Michael will give you the grade. Also, be prepared to go to Michael with anything because he loves to help his students.
