Physiology was the second class that I took with Dr. Shipley, and he was just as amazing the second time around! Though the material is dense, Dr. Shipley does a great job of making it understandable and accessible for everyone. There are lots of grades, not just tests, and Dr. Shipley is always willing to step in and help out! You will love him!

Dr. Shipley is easily my favorite professor I have ever had. This class (histology) was definitely difficult, but I learned so much and Dr. Shipley was always willing to give individual help whenever necessary. He cares so much about each one of his students and really goes above and beyond to make sure you succeed! Take this class with him!

This was my second class to take with him. It has a lot of grades like reports and case studies to bring up your grade. If you study you can do really well. Dr. Shipley is the best professor, he really cares about the well being of his students. His lectures reflect how much he knows, excellent professor, great class

This class was histology, and it was easily the best class I have ever taken. I learned an incredible amount in this one semester, and Dr. Shipley is the best professor Ive ever had. He is accessible, supportive, and truly wants his students to succeed. His class is tough but so worth it.

Comment:

Dr. Shipley is one of the best professors I have ever had the pleasure of being taught by! Both his physiology and histology classes, while admittedly can be difficult, are very interesting due to his extensive knowledge and passion about the subjects. Dr. Shipley is always willing to give individual help and you should definitely take his class!

I got a bad grade in his class, but I can't deny his class is awesome! He has good manner, his class is interesting. I think test is not that hard, just you should make a perfect attandance for good grade. Because you need to write down what he says during lecture. Bring your recorder. It will help you a lot.

I had him for Physiology. His lecture was not boring at all. He always used PowerPoint to teach. You are allowed to get a copy as well. If you understand what was on the slides, you will be definitely fine. Make sure you write down all the details he said. If you are a perfectionist, this class will be easy for you. No needs to read book after all.

Great Professor! he teaches very well and you can understand what he is talking about. Although you still need to study your notes (the book was mainly for pictures). Tests are ok. Dont cram, you wont do well. He can go pretty fast at times. Funny guy too and he works to get overall grades up.

Great teacher, he is knowledgeable gets his point across very well much better that Mills in teaching but his test are brutal you need to know every part of a system down to the exact molecule its made of other wish he is a good teacher who is good with his students only take his class if u want a real challenge and are willing to go for an A

I think his class can be interesting. He's better to listen to than Dr. Mills, but Shipley's tests are much harder. But I'm enjoying it. I attended an SI session before one of my tests and I did much better. You have to work in his class, but it will be worth it in the end.

He's a nice guy, not very good professor. He tests us to see if we memorized all the details, like which organisms lived in certain period and characteristics of each phylum. Really, will we need to know that for future? Most ppl forget those details after tests anyways.

Very hard teacher. He loves talking about the fatty acids, thats one thing that I did learn in his class before I dropped it. Take Javed or Dr.Votsberger if you want to pass the class with an A or B. Dont take Shipley, even if he is the last teacher on the schedule.

Good professor, great teacher. Very professional & willing to give all requested aid - he reexplained the difficult body systems & even gave me his powerpoint presentations. Gives great foundation for students continuing in bio/chem/nursing. Not easy prof, but makes you work for it, teaches you how to be successful.

I took this class last semseter there were over 100 students. I dropped the course because he goes to fast, barely people passed, and he is hard. I dont reccommend him to anybody. Take Dana Mills of Javed for Anatomy they are really good. If you do take his class you will regret it.
