Comment:

John made the class super clear grading wise & explained lecture material well, and used fun examples/videos in class. Final & midterm are open book & notes, just be sure to look over court cases in assigned chapters before the midterm & final. He's also never shown a toothy smile, so I'm counting on somebody to make it happen before he retires!

His grading criteria is not clear at all. I'm sure he's great at other classes, but for Station Programming he only taught (at best) 20% of what he would take in the exams. His expectations are really hard to get.

John cancelled 4 classes and left class early a lot of times, which was a lot bc he didn't teach enough material for the exams. Thus he had to curve bc there were people getting D and below in the exams. He should explain more concepts instead of leaving early.

Comment:

Very easy course, totally hands on, a lot of experience. He will put you to speak in the radio even if you don't have any experience. This is good for people that want to pursue a broadcasting career. His very few tests are easy, and he values the effort a lot. Attendance is not mandatory to the classes, though you have to be in your radio shifts.

This is a very practical course. Madormo gives very few directions. The grade is based in the Midterm and final exams, which are easy if you read the lectures he gives. There is no textbook, which I like. He doesn't speak so much, and is called Mad Dog for some reason :o Overall he is very knowledgeable, you will be in the radio track from day one.

Madormo is not only a member of NCC faculty, he has been a radio broadcaster and written books. If he is not PhD is because he doesn't need it. His experience is evident since he is the manager of WONC radio station, which has won many awards including best coach. He is an institution of the Communication department, especially Broadcast.

Prof Madormo is one of the most hilarious teachers ever. His classes are entertaining, and his stories make you roll on the ground laughing. A million dollars to the person who can get him to smile a toothy smile. haha.

John (maddog) is lots of fun, really knows his stuff, and not too demanding. I learned a lot from his classes and really enjoyed them. He lets you out early on holidays and the first day of the term, and he's not afraid to go off topic if you have a question. Get him to tell stories. It's fun.

pretty easy class. i was **** when i took the final and I got a B. boring though, same type of class every time. he showed a couple movies though, so that helped. he knows what he's talking about in class though and has relevant work experience to back it up.
