Comment:
He rambles, laughs at random times, messes up what he's saying (so that he goes back and corrects himself and I can't follow him), his tests are a bit unclear and not based on what he was talking about (read the texts thoroughly) and overall is just annoying. However, he's a really nice guy.

Really nice professor, but he is really hard to understand and interrupts himself by laughing at his own jokes. Class is pretty easy to get an A in.

Interesting material. Lectures are meandering and it's difficult to nail down what he wants on the tests. Take notes and be SURE you get the handouts. Tests are part MC and part essay. READ the texts! Just wish he would engage the class more and talk about HIS experience and field work. Overall, recommend.

I skipped class frequently & still ended up pulling off a B+...wouldn't recommend it though.Really nice guy..not a mean bone in his body..interesting for the mostpart..at times yes, a bit dull...but work is easy..and he's always eager to assist you. I would recommend him.

Awesome professor!!! One of the best so far in my college career. Unfortunately Miramar hired a new Anthro professor (after over 9 years of him teaching there). I think they're crazy to let him go. He will be truly missed. Look for him at the Cuymaca and others for Anthro, you wont regret it.

Prof. White is awesome!!! I didn't find his lectures boring at all! (I can't understand why everyone found him to be dull). He's very insightful and interesting if you give him a chance, he's also a really nice guy. Class attendence is a must! Most of his tests are based on the lectures and films. Just reading the text will not help you very much.

Nice guy, boring class. Reading and attending lectures are a must. Although he seems to lecture off topic sometimes, you do actually benefit from his films and lectures. 3 tests, one final, along with a final project. Sounds like a lot but read the book and attend class regularly you should be fine. Overall a boring class but good look at anth.

A very nice guy. His class is not the most entergetic & intresting,& he isn't to clear on instructions, but I did learn alot. The tests are not too easy but if you come to class(on time)listen & take notes you should do ok on the tests. I would recomend him to serious students who want to learn.

Hes not a very good teacher. Don't bother reading the book, b/c nothing comes out it for the tests. He doesn't like to work with his students either, he gets defensive. The movies are old and boring and shows them too often

I had him for the summer 2004. I must admit I enjoyed the class. Yes it can be somewhat dull at times but if you come with an open mind to learn, he has tons of ethnographic experience. Show up to class and take notes on films if you want a "A&quo

As a person really nice and chuckly. Not a bad bone in him. As a professor.,..ehhh..disorganized and the class was almost super boring. I usually left early all the time and passed with a B-. Not to bad.

Mr White had difficult tests, but the final was incredible. If you copy the first few tests verbatim, then memorize them, you WILL pass the final. The research report is a verbal, but you get all points if you give it, regardless of the complexity.

This guy just bites, his lectures just seem to go on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on. Tests are kind of tough but not to bad as long as you read the text and somewhat listen to what he has to say. DEFINITELY NEVER AGAIN.
