He takes things slow but expects you to do your part. Keep on top of your assignments and reading. He is easy to talk to and not intimidating at all, you can always ask for help. This class was rewarding for those who want to learn about algorithms.

I took Stats during the 3 wk winter session. This course is content heavy, however, you can do well. The tests are hard, but you can use your book for 2. The final is proctored, which you can't really fake your way through. You just have to be ready to work hard. I spent about 4-5 hours a day on this, but I earned an A and I really learned it.

He is described as a majestic leopard in multiple local newspapers. Loving man who is just trying to make some money to feed his daughter. You will fall in love with him. He loves hiking and baking on the weekends. Sometimes he will give out free cake/cookies in class. Other times he will bring in beer. Loves the Amazon Jungle, too.

I took his statistics online class (MAT 120). I took it during the summer so a 15 week class was done on 6 weeks. Overall the material was not difficult at all, but condensed in that much time made it difficult. I believe a lot of people dropped the class. If taken during a regular semester (in lecture) it should not be very difficult.

First Exam was not given until after drop date. Final exam and Midterm were given stapled together at the end of the semester. Homeworks were checked off but not graded for feedback. Professor El-Taha expressed complete apathy towards the progress of the students. Do not take this professor

Don't take his class! Boring and he was just pretty much reading his own notes. and you will have to spend tremendous time on cases. Never buy the textbook for this class, it is required but you will never be using this book at all!

I can see how other people could be put off by this class. If you follow his notes (required as a textbook) and go to class, you should be all set. His accent wasn't a problem for me. Nice enough guy, kind of dry. It's stats though, what can you really expect?

El-Taha is hard to understand, first off, because of his accent. Any math teacher who has an accent, shouldn't be teaching math--in the first place. Cases took 15-30 hrs. When you ask for help--he explains it the same way he did the first time. DO NOT TAKE HIM OR THIS CLASS--you will be miserable for 5 months.

horrible class. If you want to really understand the material and pass the first time through, take a different teacher because your chances of passing this class the first time through are slim to none.

First off, the class its self is hard. Unless your a great math student, you will struggle no matter who you have as a teacher. However, taking it with this idiot makes it worse! You can't understand his thick accent and he is a major d**che bag!

I took it in the summer. He will belittle students, he is harsh, he does not seem to care, but he will help you if you ask. Go see a tutor once per week, I failed almost every exam, but I attended every class and went to the tutor and I still got a C.

Very unclear and unhelpful. He has no idea how to teach. If you are not a math whiz forget this class becuase if you get behind, lost, or just dont understand a problem, good luck havin him explain it to you. He's even rude alot of the time when trying to answer general questions about the homework.

Dr. El-Taha is a very quiet man, which makes it seem like he doesn't care. I went for help a few times, and he was quite willing to help. It took a few meetings before things clicked, but he was patient and good to work with.
