He is a wonderful teacher. He knows what he is talking about, is funny, and genuinely cares for his students. He called me to let me know I can retake a test because he wants me to realize my full potential. Amazing man! I learned a lot of valuable information and the class was easy.

Good class, learn a lot. His classes are more lecture than seminar, but plenty of opportunity for feedback and your comment. While he does lecture, he is always willing to stop for questions or comments. Very helpful and accessible.

Dr. Baldwin is among the best 2 or 3 professors I have ever taken at UA. I have taken 4 courses w/ him and found him to be personable, fair, and very knowledgeable. If you have the opportunity to take him and choose not to, you are doing yourself a real disservice. Attending class and meeting with him are the best things you can do for your grade.

Dr. Baldwin is one of the most personable instructors I've ever had the pleasure of learning from. He possesses a wealth of knowledge in the fields of Personnel Administration, Organization Theory, and the Political Sciences. He makes the classroom experience an enjoyable one. Seriously one of the easiest classes to get out of bed for. So much fun.

Dr. Baldwin is a great guy, he is super helpful but only if you show general interest in class. He is very old school and straight forward study for every exam because there is only 3 tests and that makes up your final grade. HE DOES EXTRA CREDIT PAPER TAKE SERIOUSLY.

I always left his lectures so confused. He cares more about talking about himself than actually teaching. His expectations are not clear - you have NO idea how he grades or what he takes off for. Buying the books was the biggest waste of $200. Don't take this class or anything with him.

Super easy class. If you take any other class with him, it's almost the same stuff. Baldwin cares more about campus politics, faculty senate, etc, than teaching, and it shows. He's very likable though (as long as you don't try and question what he says), and the class is easy, so I'd recommend it.

Comment:
Baldwin is the worst professor I've had at UA. His tests are impossible to study for because he doesn't take questions from his lectures or assigned readings. His lectures are also excruciatingly boring and repetitive. This was by far the lowest grade I've ever received in a course and it could have been a lot worse if it weren't for sheer luck.

Hardest part of this class is actually making it, tests aren't too bad, M/C and 2 essay questions for 3 tests. Gives an extra credit paper (15 points on final). Class is just boring.

Dr. Baldwin is very repetitive but in all his class is fairly easy as long as you know his themes and read over the workbook.

Comment:
Dr. Baldwin is a good teacher that really knows organization theory. He has taught it for over 30 years and you can tell that the class is probably the same it was 30 years ago. He tends to digress a lot during class. At the end of the semester we had only covered about 65% of the topics that were laid out on the syllabus.

Dr. Baldwin is passionate about Public Administration, whether the class is personnel or org theory. His lectures are clear and easy to follow, although sometimes repetitive. Take good notes and study the workbook. He grades on improvement and likes to see students succeed. Very helpful in and out of class. Take his classes, he is great.

He's a nice guy, easy class but only take one from him or you'll realize how repetitive he is. Do not buy the book, take good notes, for some reason the books he orders are outrageously expensive and unnecessary.

I was reading a few of the comments below about Norm, and some of them bother me. Norm is a man of habit, so he is very easy to find. Also, he will help you out any way that he can. Dr. David Lanoue is the department chair. Professors make a salary. All of the professors teach classes of like information, because they specialize in something. They do not make any more money for doing so. Norm's field is public administration. Anyway, Baldwin is a good teacher. Take him if you get a chance.
