Comment:

Very friendly and sweet, cares about your learning. Willing to meet outside of class. Easy maker, and interesting class. I learned quite a bit about a subject I really had no interest for prior to attending.

Comment:

Despite the 10 pg essay, she is an easy marker, the workload isn't bad and she is genuinely very friendly. I personally found her lectures to be a bit boring, unstructured, repetitive and the discussions were often dominated by the same people. Decent course, decent prof and a GPA booster for me, but nothing exciting.

Comment:

She is a pretty good prof: easy marker and pretty clear. She changes the due dates around, but she always lets you know when she is moving them. Attending the lectures is important, since the midterm and the final are based mostly off of them. The course pack isn't really necessary, but some of the readings in it are interesting.

She expects from a 100 level course. 10 page papers are something I was assigned in 300-400 level courses; she should not expect us to do so in a 100 level course. And she takes a while to get stuff back to us. Nevertheless, presents a relatively non-biased view for a class that is already slanted toward a particular sort of history.

Really sort of one of the middle of the line profs. She is a nice enough person but she doesn't vary the teaching methods she uses in class, her assignments also require some digging when it comes to the research

lets just say i started a paper that she suggested a topic for and agreed to what i wanted to do, after handing it in to get checked she gives it back to me 2 days before its due and says this is bad start over. The paper is ten pages long and i have a day to finish it. FML

Pat is awesome! Shes SO nice! The papers (2) take some work, but the midterm is a breeze(short answer, pick 8 out of 16!). Either read the text, or go to class, no need for both

Pat is a great prof. She is kind and understanding and wants her students to succeed. The text books are usually useless, and class attendance is pretty important. If you put in the work, and go to class you'll be fine.

Pat is a very nice lasy, but should stick to researching - not teaching. I think she is bi0polar with how one day she is approachable and the next, is so snarky. Doesn't slow down, hard to follow, doesn't value students' time when handing assgn back. Very little respect for students. Will not take her again and do not recommend.

Disappointing. Used text very little. The coursepack is seldom referred to. Exams were easy, but it was very hard to know what to study since there was no text. She could really use some powerpoint so that you can distinguish things (dates/names) that she expects you to know. Takes weeks to return essays. Her expectations or essays are VAGUE!

Came in really interested in this subject. Learned next to nothing. Papers were extremely time-consuming and worth little. Her comments on papers are incomprehensible and it takes her weeks to return them. In fact most were still not marked by the day of the final exam. What a frustrating experience overall. Disappointing.

Wasted first few weeks of class, got behind, last month was non-stop note taking. No notes given. Coursepack/text under-used. SLOW to hand back papers, no idea where you stand. Snarky with questions. NO direction about what you are responsible to know. Vague concepts to which she wanted specific answers. Nice lady, not for 200 level classes.

She really loves her subject and if you go to her class, you will do well on the exams. I do find that she is very unapproachable and very snappy when you ask for clarification or help. I find you really need to listen in class because she talks a mile a minute. She is also very slow in handing back assignments so be prepared to not know your mark.

The best Prof I have ever had! Lots of reading material, but the readings are easy and interesting. She is very interesting, and knows her stuff. She is very understanding, and she marks fair. Any opportunity to take a class with her, take it! She's great!!

A very nice prof if students are willing to take the time to get to know her. Very approachable. Is willing to help at any point in time. Very cute lady for her age and very modern in her way of teaching. Material may not be as exciting, but her enthusiasm makes the class what it is. Genuinely wants students to do well.
