His class is full of many examples of whatever it is he is talking about. There is kinda a lot of reading for the class but overall I would take the class again.

As an online class in the summer, it was fast paced. He did not have presentation slides for his lecture videos which were long & just him speaking with some photos relating to the subject. 15 units in total, there are quizzes with follow-up multiple choice & responses. There is weekly class discussion which you should put effort into. Hard grader!

Teach gives engaging, passionate, and gives easy-to-follow-along with lectures that really makes learning not feel like too much work. I've never had much love for the subject, but after taking 151 and 152 in his class I find myself a little passionate for it too. Probably one of the best teachers I've ever had. would recommended to everyone.

Professor Patterson is a easy class to pass as long as you stay on top of doing assignments and attend class. I did everything in the class and got bad grades on my midterm and final, and still was able to pass. This class is easy, but it was just too boring for me, since I don't like HISTORY AT ALL LOL

There is a lot of writing and reading involved, especially if you're taking the summer course for this class. He's pretty cool and it was easy to get along with him in the beginning, due to common interest. The exams are papers, but they're easy enough to pass.

He's a great professor, he clearly loves his job. Lots of readings. Final has a lot of essays It's great and easy if you stay on top of the readings He goes off topic most of the time during his lectures. But he floods you a lot with information If you love to read about history then its a great class for you. Otherwise, I wouldn't recommend it.

Dr. Patterson is awesome. I didn't like history class at the beginning because English is my second language, i have to translate to my own language, but after I took DR. Patterson's history 151, I started to love history, his gives fun and interesting lecture, he is very knowledgable about his subject, very energetic, helpful. Highly recommended!

Took his class online. Pretty easy class actually. I initially had no interest in History, but being in his class made it interesting for me. We had assignments everyweek but nothing difficult. It consists of games and discussions. Very cool guy. I recommend taking his class.

I took his online class. NO kidding it is a LOT of hard work. There was a LOT of reading and a lot of writing. Every week you have to read his lectures, the textbook chapters, AND the 50s book. 100+ pages every week, and you have to write reactions. I was disappointed that he didn't stick to the syllabus. Final exam is all essays.

Didn't like this class in the beginning, too much writing and assignments for 3CR. Had Text 1-2 ch/wk + 50's book 3 ch/wk + wkly discussions for each with multiple questions + on some weeks quizzes too. Better mid semester, no 50's book, but felt disengaged and just wanted to get it done. And for those skeptical, got an A this isn't retribution.

I took his summer online course (very condensed) and realized that it's not that easy to read the entire book or assigned readings. Quizzes were way easier than the exams itself. Midterm was multiple choice and an essay but final exam was mainly essays! Lot of writing. Online was difficult I'm sure I would have done better in class. Hard grader
