Comment:

Do not sign up for an early class. You will fall asleep. You could probably pass with a C without the textbook, but his tests are your only opportunities for points and there is a lot of textbook material on them. Be sure to be on time and do not get up and leave during his lectures. The final was an essay type final that helped my grade a lot.

Comment:

Super nice guy who obviously cares about the subject, but SO boring. His slideshows are horrible, and taking in-class notes is hard because of this. The tests are the only place grades come from, there are no additional assignments, show up and you should do alright.

The way he sets up his syllabus and the way he wants papers turned in is confusing. Too many steps for each individual assignment. It makes the work to be done in the class messy, I feel like I never know what he expects out of assignments he's asking for.

When I saw the reviews for Prof Raymond I got a little scared, but now that I am in the class I am confused as to why he got so many negative reviews! He is a great teacher. Professor Raymond is very relaxed, nice, open to discussion, and his tests (for my class at least) are open note! You don't really need the textbook but you may use it to study

He may be not be the most exciting professor, but this class was a seminar class; therefore, led by student discussion. He is extremely particular about assignments, but that is a good thing because he gives clear guidelines for what he expects and always explains the grade that he gives you. Take him. Also, there is no textbook for the class.

I was actually excited about taking this class but I have to say that he ruined it. The lectures were awful boring. I mean, just bad. His test, had little to do with lectures. I would have taken this course with a different professor, I would have. Do the study guides, and write your essays and you'll be okay though

I signed up for the lecture class and went the first day to find out that you have to give A LOT of presentations- which isn't for me. So I switched to online. Material is pretty hard. Very monotone on the online lectures. If you are good at taking online classes then you should have no problem passing this class. Unfortunately, I am not.

I really like Dr Raymond. You know exactly what he expects of you. If you follow his study guides and outlines for papers and presentations. You can earn an A. I like he engages the class in discussions but makes sure it stays on track. I would recommend him!

I took this class online and really enjoyed it. You have an assignment or an exam every 2-3 weeks and nothing in this class is too difficult. There is no reason for anyone to get below a B, though an A is hard to attain. It is challenging enough to make you put forth your best effort but is not a class you would worry about failing.

His study giudes are rediculously long and they have almost no material on them that pertians to the test. He is not very helpful and this is ocoming from a student who has a 3.9 rather had because i got a D in his class even after studying because his tests are rediculous. would not reccommend. If you like monotone teachers go for it.

I enjoyd this class, but you have to be very interested in politics to really get into the material. A lot of written work but only two tests which he gives study guides for. As long as you do the work and don't blow the class of you will do fine. Is dry at times but I recommend.

I took this course online. You did have to come to campus 4-5 times to take your tests and final. His online lectures were boring but he got to the point. I thought he was a nice and helpful professor.

Ok, I believe every student should have a political science course. For most of us don't know the system and how it works. But this professor makes the class so miserable, that he literally takes the emphasis away from the importance of the topic. All in all it's a shame that he is a horrible instructor for such an interesting course.

Not a bad class at all. It's not the most interesting to start with if you aren't concerned with the area of Public Process, so don't go in expecting to be entertained. Personally, I enjoyed the lectures. :)

Very boring lectures. Study guide is about 100 questions. If you want extra credit, you have to write a ten page paper for 10 points (1 pt. per page). He is extremely monotone.

Awful instructor! Gives 40 minutes on a 50 exam questions online! Im no expert but it takes some time to read through the questions. His power points make no sense and it sucks because thats the only resource you have and his voice will put you asleep along with the horrible text. Do yourself a favor and take sociology!

Ok His power points are not the greatest because he might put one key word per slide making you listen to get the rest of the info but I guess that is a good thing a way of keeping your attention His tests are fairly easy, but long 100 questions. His study guide takes ages to fill out but if you get all the rite itll do wonders for you on the test.

Comment:

Public Policy Process is a class that he really enjoys teaching. It's not an edge of your seat course, but you will learn. His test is EXACTLY what your study guide says, and that helps a whole lot when your working on your presentation and paper. This is a great course to help decide if you want to follow Poli Sci as a major or not.
