Amazing professor who clearly loves what he teaches. He is a bit awkward, and instructions can be vague but will clarify if you ask him to. Not many tests, so every assignment matters; he will also give extra credit to good contributions in class. Don't expect to pass if you skip a lot of class.

Dr. Saka is WONDERFUL! The negative comments talking about overwhelming and difficult assignments are bologne! If you're a philosophy major and you actually CHOSE to take the class, you'll love Saka. I took 3 classes with him and loved every minute!

Dr. Saka is clear, knowledgeable and approachable. He does an excellent job promoting reflection and interest in the material as well as demonstrating its applicability. Dr. Saka is a benefit to the department and the University. If you want to learn, study with Dr. Saka. If you want to be a pet, or a prop, or abused take a different professor.

i agree with the raters who think he's boring. the readings have nothing to do with the class. he says he can't help you b/c it's not fair to the other students. avoid if possible.

Very smart professor but tends to be off-subject quite often. Tests are only a few questions so each question is extremely important. Wears hawiian shirts every day which is cool and did not make us take the final. He is extremely boring but I ended up doing well without trying hard

I love Saka SO much! I had him for logic II and I have no apptitude for math, but he managed to teach me theory of language, binary, set theory and godel. You can tell he really loves teaching--he gets this endearing little stutter when he gets excited about an idea. He wears hawaiian shirts all the time. BEST OF ALL--I didn't have to take the fina

One of the greatest people on earth. He's a really great professor, Super knowledgable. I think he's incredibly clear, and if you ask questions, he'll take the time to explain hard concepts. His grading is very gracious. One of the most likable people ever. If you try and come to class, he'll make it possible for you to get good grades.

Pay attention and take good notes, and you can breeze through the exams. Too many write off Dr. Saka for focus on history and boring lectures, but I found the class very interesting and he is certainly an intriguing person. Book selection was wonderful - VERY interesting books. Keep a positive attitude and you'll do very well in his class.

Try to participate in the discussion, otherwise you'll fall asleep in class. 2 papers (1500-1800 words) worth 40% each, a final worth 20%. take good notes, you'll need them for the final.

Lectures are VERY boring, and he gives no incentive to go to class since the papers have nothing to do with the lectures. VERY UNFAIR GRADER! He told me paper was "excellent" and "well-argued," but gave me an A- instead of an A because he's "already given too many A's."

Ubersmart and very endearing. You can kind of tell Ancient Phil isn't his bag; I think he's probably better in Metaphysics and Logic II. Still, he brought some very interesting questions to light and encouraged discussion, and he was a fairly easy paper grader.

The class is not what you expect. The first part deals with the history of science. Lectures are excruciatingly boring. He stutters a lot and nothing is very clear. Avoid this class if possible.
