I never showed up to class (I was retaking) but when I did he would spend so long on one topic. He spent the entire 50 minutes on an equilibrium problem one time. Doesn't move through content quickly so exams aren't on a lot of content, but you should study & go to recitation

Still dont know final exam, sapling, or lab grade from last semester so theres no way to know we got the right grade or submit for regrades on the final. Promises a HUGE curve but theres none. Tells you not to worry but you should worry. Unless youre planning on sucking up take a different prof. I learned more in 2 classes than all last semester.

Pete is a great guy who cares about chemistry. Some people complain about him but that just means they have not put a lot of work in. He expects a lot from his students (specifically chem 0910) and you should be grateful to learn from someone as smart and demanding as Pete. If you wanna succeed, actually do 15 min of chem each day

Let me be clear that I disliked Chemistry for my whole life until this class. Pete made things understandable and he was a decent guy; however, he was a really strict grader and his exams covered a lot of content. I never felt like I was going to fail, but I expected to do better considering he claimed he was curving our final grades. STUDY HARD!

Although Pete is accessible outside class and provides extra help, his class is extremely disorganized. He claimed that there would be such a large curve that by the end, each exam would be one letter grade above what was received. I got a B+ on one exam and a B on the next, yet ended the class with a B. You wont know your grade the whole semester

Pete is by far my favorite professor I've had. He is very accessible to his students and wants each of them to succeed. His tests are very challenging and he knows that by compensating with an overall curve at the end. Go to his office hours and put in work and you will get a good experience out of his class!

Pete seems like a nice guy. He just doesn't know how to run a classroom. All of his three tests have averages in the 60s-low 70s and does not curve until the end of the semester. This is not necessarily bad, except for the fact that he ends up curving little to none, despite talking about a large curve throughout the semester. TAKE DR. WARD!!!!!

Says that he will curve. Flat out lie. Class is horribly disorganized and you will have no clue what your final grade will be until he puts the final in. Do yourself a favor and take a different prof.

As previously mentioned, this class is poorly designed. Although this is not Pete's fault, he doesn't seem to really help his students that well. He doesn't post grades so you don't really know what's going on. He says that he curves the grades but does he actually? Since you don't know your grade to begin with it's unsure. He's tough, good luck.

Personally, I really liked Pete. He wasn't condescending at all and actually seemed to enjoy teaching the class. I had him for gen chem 2 and I did take AP chem before, so the class/exams weren't hard. He explains concepts really thoroughly, so I highly recommend going to all the lectures.

Pete is an amazing professor. After not passing gen chem 1, I took him and did SO MUCH better. I'm in gen chem 2 with him now, and I'm doing good! He curves everything, and really tries to get everyone to pass. Definitely recommend!!

Pete honestly is a cool guy. He's funny and he's caring. He gives you many tools you can use for more practice, and he is definitely available outside of class. His lectures are based on the textbook, but he goes fast, especially towards the end, so you need to work for your grade. But he'll help you if you ask for it. (Btw, his curve is nice.)

Peter is an interesting man. His lectures are strict by the book so if you don't go to class and read it you'll get the information... he literally goes page by page and even explains the useless history part of chem which you don't need to know for the exam. Focus on doing practice problems from the text and you should be OK.

Dr. Bell is a wealth of information. Good sense of humor. All around great human being. Always available, approachable, and relatable. I retook Chemistry and him both times . Never have I walked out of his classroom or office wishing I didnt go in there. I now feel I am imbued with a very solid foundation for my career as a scientist.

Doesn't drop exam scores but gives partial credits on MC&OR. Give 3 Exams that worth the same as the REC, TopHat, HW and Lab that are easy so DO THEM. To pass the class with an A you would need to get score with at least 12 points above the average on the Exams. For CHEM class he is very fair, and goes slow. He is available in person and email.

Says he will curve and everything will balance out at the end but that is a flat out lie. This is a weed out class (like most intro classes) and if you work hard you can get an average grade but As are basically impossible. I will say though, he is probs the best out of all the other chem profs.

Pete is an amazing dude. Super friendly and funny. His lectures are informative and engaging. He also really cares for his students and want them to do well. Although chem 2 is a tough class and Pete's tests are especially hard, he does curve at the end. You definitely have to work to get a good grade. Not the easiest prof, but one of the best.

The class average will be about 50-60% and then he'll say grades will be inflated but they won't change. He is only allowed to give a certain amount of A's, B's, and C's. Do not take chem, change you major now.

Terrible at explaining chemistry. The most unorganized professor I have had. You won't know your grade until the final is graded.
