He is helpful when u ask for help & attend his class & office hours regularly. However, when the school got shut down for a whole week before thanksgiving due to fires things got bad real quick. He refused to postpone the test date to compensate for the shutdown & he tested us on material he did not finish teaching w/o posting anything to help us.

I took calculus 1 as a first-semester freshman and every class I repeatedly heard from him that I shouldn't be in the class because even though I tested into the class, I wasn't good enough. I dropped his class halfway through the semester and he hadn't posted one grade to canvas yet so I didn't even know if I was passing the class.

For those skimming, he's a tough and fast paced teacher. He's really funny, but he was way too difficult for me personally. The problem was that if you had a question in class, most of the time he told you to go to his office hours. However, if you're busy 24/7 and can't attend his office hours outside of class time you're screwed.

Reallly fuuny and nice person. But no a really good math teacher. If you already learned calculus before. His class will be fine for you. But if you are new for it. Don't take his class. His class go really fast. He gives extra credit in class for answering his questions. Don't skip class you will have class work and thats part of your grade.

He's the type of prof that brags about how hard his class as an ego boost, like its a notch on his belt to be a "hard" prof. There's a difference between profs who are hard just to be hard and profs who are hard because they make you re-examine your way of looking at something. I'm staying in bc I have no choice I can't drop but I would if I could.

He's a very hard professor, confusing way of teaching calc. Only like 9 kids left in the class at the end. He's savage though, you come and better know what you're stuff or he will rip into you. Doesn't teach you some of the stuff on test. Do assigned hw, go to office hours, come to class, study ahead. Don't, you'll fail. Guaranteed to pass then.

Horrible teacher. At the end only 9 students didn't drop the course. He told us that he would not be teaching everything and that we would have to teach ourselves half of the material. Even the people who were naturally good at math did not understand his teaching style. He always covered half the board, and erased the notes too quickly. hes savage

He's a tough prof, don't take him if you want it easy. Not an easy A. Savage towards class until most of the class drops. We had like 9 kids left in our class at the end. Very funny, good professor, teaches well. Don't skip class, go to office hours, do all the assigned homework, and study well or you are screwed in the class. These are musts!

Professor Farmer is a great professor and is very knowledgable. His class is difficult and only 30% of the students were left by the end of the semester. Do not take him if you are looking for an easy math class. His office hour is very helpful. Overall, his class is really fun and he is extremely funny.

Professor farmer has his own way to interpret the book material, he will jump section by section. And if you really want to get a good score on test, do every homework problems. If you are aiming for an A, hand in the classwork and homework on time. 20% homework and classwork, 50% test, 30% final.

Professor Farmers class is okay. but if you have a hard time with math you should pick a different teacher. when you don't understand something he tells you he will see you next semester instead of being supportive. Very discouraging

Worst math teacher ever, made a big mistake taking him, do not take unless you plan on majoring in math or physics as he will just waste your time. No curves, super hard tests and one of the most unfair graders i've had. Learned nothing, he pushes through the class so fast, if math isn't your thing you'll easily get left behind.

summer-difficult. tons of hw, tests are only an hour with 4-5 questions, 14-18 pts each, grades hard and takes off tons of points, helpful outside of class but not much time in office hours. takes a while to return tests and won't grade your test if you need it to decide whether to drop. on your own to master material. Not all tests Qs were from hw

Mr farmer was the best teacher I've ever had. Before I took his class I hated math so much but he actually made the class enjoyable and now I don't despise math as much as I use to. He's very helpful and you will come out of the class understanding math like never before! I recommend you take his class and see for yourself!!!

He is a little kooky at first but you will grow to love him because he really does care about people understanding math and goes the extra mile to help you move along in your education. He does not judge those who struggle with math. A really good teacher that cares.

He was a very good teacher. It was clear he understood the material inside and out and this was very helpful. He was capable of giving information on all equations/theorems/etc. used including how to derive them and the mathematicians who derived them. A very knowledgeable teacher.

made me hate math. Too fast and expects you to know everything right away. He constantly told the class that we can withdraw from the class (if we didnt already fail) and just take his class again. Hard tests, quizzes, and lots of homework!
