Fr. Linden's course is VERY different from any other theology professor. All there is to the class are essays and in class discussions. Fr. Linden is very intellectual and his lectures are filled with many interesting topics. While it's very doable he constantly challenges you with more questions even when you give your most insightful opinion.

He is a very intellectual professor, well educated, and requires his students to speak and participate in order for you to do well in class. Even if you cannot keep up with the readings at first, it can be well explained in class. He is humorous and does not require a textbook since he uses articles for his class. Good Teacher!

Fr Linden is brilliant! This isn't just a normal course where you are given notes and then memorize them for an exam. Fr Linden actually makes you think about what you are reading. When you participate in discussions, he challenges you to think as an intellectual. Although this course was difficult, it promotes critical and intellectual thinking.

I absolutely loved Father Lindon. Beware: he's daring and bold! He will put you on the spot and has no problem giving his opinion of ideas. Overall, his class makes you think about life. For me, it changed my perspective on some things. He requires honesty in work and application. If you're not analytical, his class may not fit you.

Father Linden is an amazing teacher! He expects you to think on your own and become very involved in class. His topics are never boring, and is class gives you a different outlook on life. If you are quiet and do not voice your opinion I advise you not to take this class. However, if you are a thinker and an intellect, this is the class for you.

Horrible experience. Don't take him! He doesn't answer questions in class and he doesn't want you to go to his office hours for help. Worst teacher I've ever had. All he does in class is rant on and on.

Great teacher. Don't take him if your GPA needs a boost, because you won't find it with him. What his class does is allow you to expand intellectually. I never got the whole "it's not about the grade" until I took him. The key to getting a good grade in his class is to open your mind and absorb the material. If you dont READ, you'll do bad. Dont BS

Father Linden is an awesome professor. He is not the easiest but he keeps you thinking. I think everyone at Xavier should take him at least once. His class is not about earning a good grade, it is about the knowledge you learn and keep for life. Talking in class will get you a good grade.

I took Father Linden back in 98. He got me to think seriously about things I had not considered in such depth before. The political, social, spiritual aspects of his course influenced me greatly. He is a hard grader, his texts are not easy, he's an ornery old man. But worth the discomfort. It took me three courses with him to finally earn his A

He is a horrible professor! He doesn't even discuss Theology in class, he just rambles nonsense about how the students at Xavier are turning their back on the poor. He's a hard grader and even told us that it is almost impossible to make an A. He also thinks that he's always right which is not very appealing in a professor.

Great Teacher! He helps you think outside of the box of stupidity! The students that dislike him ("he's too difficult", etc.) are on the average to low end on the scale of intelligence, but can sure memorize info for tests!
