Comment:
Thompson barely knows what hes talking about. No one in my class knows what theyre doing. He covers material vaguely and so fast that you have no time to understand it. We covered 3 lessons in 1 day. I would not recommend this class to anyone that doesnt absolutely have to take it especially with Thompson. His teaching ability is subpar at best.

Logic and philosophy is a confusing subject if you have never taken anything like it before. I'm sure it is hard to teach this class but this teacher does his best to help you get it. He can be somewhat unorganized but I think he really wants us to learn and explains things again if you don't get it. Never ridicules students when they are incorrect

This was an online class on philosophy and theology. The lectures were recorded with powerpoint You have a quiz every week over the lecture. You get the questions before the lecture, so you just answer the questions when he covers them. The midterm and final are take-home, but you will write 5 pages. The class was interesting Would take again

He gives you a study guide and lets you use a page of notes for the tests. He also grades on curve and posts powerpoint slides. Just take good notes and use the slides in your notes. The readings are hard but he does a good job explaining thm I would take again.

Awesome teacher. Class is not hard if you take good notes and go to class. He tells you when he is covering an exam question. Just pay attention and you will do fine.

He was the absolute worst professor I have ever taken. You get 4 tests and that is all you have for the whole semester. Sure, you have the whole semester to do them but I think I spent and average of 5 hours on each exam because his lectures don't help at all. He told our class it's pretty much impossible to get an A. Would never recommend him!

Dr. Thompson was the worst professor I've ever heard. This freshman level class made me feel like I was in grad school. DO NOT take this class -- no matter what you do!

VERY harsh grader. Tests are very difficult. If you don't show up you'll fail. He's a bizarre lecturer, never looks at you. If you don't like Philosophy, you won't like the class plain and simple.

Lectures in the class suck and the test leave you dumbfounded staring a your computer screen for hours. If you don't have any interest in philosophy you will have every second of this class. Also teaches is some sort of weirdo and never looks students in the eyes.

Wow. For a freshman level class this one was difficult and demanding. It starts out reasonable but toward the end the writing assignments become tedious and tough to keep up on. I don't mind working for a good grade but the pace of the class makes me feel like I'm barely treading water. I'm rushing through the material and not learning much.

This class is a 100% lecture class, he stands up there and talks. If this is hard for you, I recommend you not to take it. He is an okay teacher and he is sort of clear but he grades harsh on the first few exams. His late policy on them however is pretty neat and he has a cool curving system.

The material is kind of dull at first but if you go to class and pay attention to what he's actually saying you'll do fine. Write down everything and use lots of in depth quotes with lots of commentary on exams.

The class is not technically mandatory, but if you don't go everyday you won't get the curve at the end of the semester. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS UNLESS YOU'RE A PHILOSOPHY MAJOR. This class is for weeding out non-majors, it is NOT a blow off course. Only 4 tests, 25% each of final grade, and way harder than you think. Take amazing notes.

Mr. Thompson is a great guy and I think he is a great teacher. But unless you are obsessed with the subject or are majoring in it do not take it. Very difficult, the curve is nice but you always have those over achievers that set the bar really high and then the curve won't boost your grade at all. Great guy, funny, hard class

DO NOT take this class as an easy gen ed/blow off! Must go every day to get curved, tests are hard work, and class is him lecturing for an hour. Only take if you really want to learn about Philosophy and are willing to put in effort, because he is not going to give you any wiggle room. 4 tests are your grade, so you have to do w/o his help.
