His lectures are helpful to a degree in that he recycles a bunch of material from the previous courses (3340, 2340) but he doesn't teach the new material that he covers in this course very well. The assignments aren't really clear as well, and his tests are tough but do-able. But an A is attainable. I truly wish there was a better prof to teach GIS

Horrible prof, doesn't care about his students, makes no attempts to communicate. His syllabus was laughable and there was an extension given on every single assignment because his lecture material didn't align with the assignments. He doesn't speak will and doesn't make himself available to answer the questions that everyone has about lectures.

For anyone taking this to get your GIS certificate, good luck. I dont know how he became a professor. Horrible teacher. All the students in my class had no idea what we were learning which sucks because this is an important course. He simply can not teach. I dont know what else to say.

"Intro.to Geoinformatics" This class was held in the summer, and my God it was torture! I did not like the material being taught, but if you like learning about GPS, GIS,Remote Sensing, and so forth, then this class is for you. Prof. Cheng was not too bad, but his lectures were very boring,and he did not bother giving us a break.

This proff was horrible!!His class was a complete waste of time. The course material was awful, very mundane, irrelevant I learned absolutely nothing. Hes too concerned about his research to care for his students. Mid term was WAY off, none of the material was even close to his useless lectures. Very disorganized lectures, no proper readings.

The man is nice, but doesn't really care about you unless you're his grad student. Very unclear at times. Easy to speak with, but that does little to help with the overall ambiguity.
