Extremely interesting, dynamic, and witty. She cares about students, and deeply cares for sociology. Thoroughly enjoyed sociology with Dr. Shevalier. Class work was always meaningful, and exams were poignant and relevant. Easy to be successful with this professor but the class was the opposite of boring.

Her lectures were very enjoyable and made the class content interesting. Her papers are a little hard just because the word count is a little lengthy, but doable. Every documentary we watched was really great, too.

This class was incredibly easy and Shevalier was an excellent professor which was easy to learn from. There are a lot of papers but they're easy, and you have to study for tests but other than that it was an easy A.

If you take SOC1010, take her course! She was open to class input, but stayed on topic and wasted no time. You have to write a few papers, but they are reflection papers and based on what you learned from the material covered. Fair grader and fantastic lecturer.

Dr. Shevalier clearly knows and loves Sociology. Her lectures were super interesting and while she provides her lecture notes it is not the same at all as going to the lecture. I really enjoyed this class and worked hard in it.

Most of class is lecture. Everything's she talks about is posted online but it makes more sense through her lectures. She leaves politics out (mostly) and even brings humor into class. Almost made me want to major in sociology.

Be ready to read a lot of material from the book and study hard for the exams. Be sure to cite all your material even it is somethng you learned in class. This class really opened my eyes to the education system and the way that she teaches it helps one understand. She is always available when you're in need of assistance.

The exams are tough, but they help vou think critically. If you are a freshman or sophomore looking to fill in a SOC Req don̢۪t take this class, you will hate it and cry. If you are a junior or senior looking forward to grad school take this class for a preview of what̢۪s ahead.

Great teacher, expect hard work for this class. Lots of reading and writing, but is necessary if you are serious about sociology. Lecture, limited discussion

Worst instructor in the history of school. Faslely accuses of plagiarism and cannot back up with evidence. Brings her socialist views to class and blames white middle class for the world's problems. Do not take "socialist-ology" with this teacher; very hard to understand (unless you like the monotone approach). Completely biased and one sided.

This is a summer class, and i expected it to be tough, but not this tough. Evey other week we have three essays due. 12 essays all together. 4 tests all together. Each test is over 100-150 pages of reading. She sits on the front desk and only lectures.
