There's not too much homework but the labs are time consuming. Stay on top of them. Do the homework, study the material, you'll be fine. He lets you grade your own homework for a grade. Very laid back as long as you do the work.

Comment:

He is a really good teacher. He is usually in a good mood and has a lot of real world experience. The only problems I have had is that you dont really have a enough time to do all the labs he gives you. He stays at least 1 or two labs ahead of the most advanced group on the class, and if that isnt you, youre far behind. He is also a smartelic.

Dr. R is simply awesome. Fun weekly meetings, the right amount of work, and projects that are really helpful and will be useful in my career. Would take another class with him in a heartbeat.

Comment:

Great guy. Has real world experience and knows how to teach. I'm surprised this wasn't a witting intensive class because of the 4, 2 page papers. He makes the material easy. The only thing I found bad was the homework and tests were a little more in depth than his lectures so it requires you to read the book and figure out the details on your own.

There was a quite a large workload for this class, but I still really enjoyed it. Dr. Richardson loves what he does and is very passionate about electronics. There were 4 2-page papers, about 10 homeworks, and I think 12 labs. Labs took much longer than the time we had in the lab because he would go long in lecture, which was kind of annoying.

Ray Richardson is an incredible professor, I truly enjoyed his lectures because everyday he would show up and be excited to teach. His labs were very hands on and he didn't hold your hand which was very nice. Definitely would take his class again.

Dr. Richardson was very clear in his grading. Your grade is influenced largely by tests and labs. There were a lot of labs and they were difficult at times because directions weren't clear. However, he is always willing to help if you ask for it. There was also a 6-page paper we had to write on topic related to his class and also a presentation.

Dr. Richardson or as he's known as in the Blackboard chatroom "DocR" leads a very fun class. He is clear and helpful on all expectations of all coursework in this class. You have 6 weekly papers to write all on creativity and a big project on your creative problem solving method for a real life problem. I'd take this class even if it was optional

Dr Richardson is THE IDEAL instructor for this class. He will keep you engaged with real world examples related to each electrical concept in class. Very fair on grades regarding labs and papers. Even if you aren't interested in electricity, STILL GO to his lectures, he's quite entertaining to listen to!

Mr. Shocking is very amusing and very helpful. Just make sure to do your work and you can get a good grade. He lets you correct pretty much ALL of your work to get back points that you missed, too.

Awesome professor. The in class debate is a little annoying, simply due to having to work in groups and set up time outside of class. Loved this class!! Take it!!

If you get any EET course under this man, TAKE IT!!! He is very straightforward with his knowledge about electrical concepts and components to come in anything he teaches. He has an offbeat sense of humor which makes him even more awesome. Very straight to the point as a professor, Ditto homework and examinations.

Dr Richardson is VERY GOOD! I went into processors thinking for one second it was going to be extremely difficult. He is very helpful but not at first. Just watch out for the first three labs and be very careful when wiring those, you will use it thruout the course, He has good review days and the tests are straightforward. TAKE HIM!!

As someone else stated here, Dr. R. is very good at relating concepts to practical applications on the job. He might depend a little too much on students to bring him questions during lab rather than seeing what they are up to, but maybe he doesn't like to crowd people. His lectures are very student centered and he pulls no surprises on his tests.

Dr. Richardson makes this class really fun and is a top notch professor. If you have a choice, I wouldn't recommend taking this class from anyone else.
