Chalker is a great and really encourages students to see things from a different perspective. Shes very respectful and knowledgeable of the material discussed in class. Theres a lot of reading and she does count participation as a grade, but other than that, its an amazing course

Chalker is very passionate about her topics. She is extremely unorganized but cares a lot about the material. She does not know everything and has a hard time admitting that fact.

Has no respect for students, will assign readings the night before class, incredibly unorganized, the entire 4 hour class is just her reiterating what she made you read the night before. One time she left in the middle of class because she had to go get breakfast and made the class sit there and wait for her to come back.

Prof. Chalker is definitely a little scattered and she assigns a ton of readings. You really have to put forth a good effort to get anything out of this class, but it is well worth it. She was living and working right along a lot of the people you learn about in the class. Give her a chance and be open minded, she has a lot to offer and to teach.

VERY inconsiderate of students' time. Forgot to post discussion board, assigns an essay in its place. Lost my midterm so assumes I withdraw-ed. Assigned a final on Mother's Day from 8pm-10pm. Did not respond to a reschedule request (because of work). Did not end up posting the final at the schedule time. Her excuse the next morning: "I was out."

Kind and sweet woman. She knows a lot of information and I feel like she just starts talking about everything and anything related to the topic, which can be too much information all at once. Tests are very tough. No phones. She'll notice you more if you participate, otherwise she just won't pay attention to you.

I highly recommend taking Chalker. She is very passionate/knowledgable about the subject and is willing to help you no matter what. You have to work hard for your grade and an A is possible.

Engaging, thoughtful, polished, yet.. somewhat unorganized, too nice, not roundabout.. Professor Chalker had plenty to offer. I recommend taking her class because she'll just let you be. It's one of those classes where you'll get an A if you simply gave a crap.

Prof. Chalker is an AMAZING professor and person in general. she made this class very easy and very fun. she makes everything very very interesting and i honestly learned a lot about myself in general with her help. she also helps you with your writing skills. take her class, very good course

Extremely smart, but not a good professor. She is very disorganized (lost one of my essays, marked me absent when i was there) and her tests are pretty hard. DO NOT take her class if you haven't taken a women's studies class before, i see students who are clearly so lost because she reaches at an intermediate level
