A lot of outside reading and writing of papers. She's kind of tough when it comes to grading papers but she does give rough drafts a lot of notes. Really nice outside of class but can be intense in class.

She's a great teacher because she doesn't force you into writing formulaic papers. She truly gives you the freedom to write the kind of paper you want to, and pulls out the really good writing from people. She's accessible and flexible with deadlines as long as the class is making solid progress and giving their all. Would recommend and take again.

I know that people are pretty divided on Dr Duncan, but I loved her. Many people think that she is spacey. She is but I think it's cute but that's my opinion. She is extremely sweet and helpful.

Has good intentions, but honestly, she's rather confusing . I did well, but it often took at two or three explanations before I completely understood what I was doing on papers. Same goes for final exam content. Also, supposed to have quizzes but didn't , so not quite sure how grades were calculated. Sweet and approachable, but not great professor

Never had a C until this class, and English has always been my best subject. Didn't EVER get grades back or know what I had even though I sent countless emails asking for updates. Bit of a space cadet, spent 3 days watching a totally unrelated movie. Her way or the highway, did assignments that had nothing to do with class, REALLY HARSH GRADER

I loved Dr. Duncan. Albeit a little spacey, she's truly awesome! She may be stuck in the sixties, but it only adds to her appeal. She's a great professor if you take her class seriously. If you don't care about literature, then you probably shouldn't take her class. Word of advice, bring up the Beatles.... often.

talk about frazzled, this woman would lose her head if it weren't attached. SUPER hard, boring class. shes a harsh grader, expects you to be able to write like a PhD student. probably one of the hardest Meredith classes & teachers. dont recommend, at ALL, best thing about the class is that its over.

I hated Dr. Duncan's English 111 class. It was a complete waste of time. She grades based on her mood. I got a 78 on a paper that was one of my better ones. Also, not very clear on some assignments, which made it difficult to write the many papers we had. Would recommend another teacher.

Dr. Crazy is a nice person however her class spends very little time focusing on English. She was nice about extending deadlines on papers. Most of our class time however was spent discussing personal narratives we read about random topics. I didn't learn anything in her class and I feel like I definitely wasted my time.

I like Dr. Duncan very much. She is very insightful and really wants you to care about what is happening in the rest of the world. She wants you to think, ponder, argue, discuss. Gives assignments that open your eyes. Expects you to give your best.
