This is the worst professor I have ever had. The expectations for class were confusing and kept changing, he kept putting us into groups so we could "teach each other" rather than actually telling us anything, he was 15 minutes late to every class... And beyond that, he cannot be bothered to respond to any emails.

This man is the kindest, most insightful guy, who only wants to teach and inspire. With that being said, you don't have to attend one of his classes and you will pass, as long as you are aware with what material will be on his tests because he is hard to reach outside of class. I truly enjoyed having Professor Barksdale for this class. He always had stories and tended to use YouTube and other websites during lectures, but he was a good instructor otherwise. As long as you show up and participate, you will pass. He always goes over the tests (we had two or three of them) the class before the test so they're easy.

Comment:

Barksdale is easily the best professor Ive had at Columbus state. His lectures are awesome. You learn so much in class that will help you with your future. If I could take this class again, Id do it in a heartbeat.

Worst professor I have ever had. He did not follow the grading rubric, he made up deadlines as we went along and pushed the midterm back 1 month changed it twice. He gave 16 extra credit points on the mid term because he messed up on a lot of the questions. Always late to class, 10 to 15 mins late. He loves using Youtube to do his job for him.

As long as you show up and engage in the discussion for that day you will pass. He wants you to read, but I never read once for his class and did just fine. The projects you will have to figure out on your own, but ask for feed back along the way and then he will finally tell you if you are on the right path or not. He cares about your growth.

GREAT PROFESSOR!! Easy A, I enjoyed going to this class. This is my third course with him, and also taking him again next semester for another class. He cares about every student in the class, his lectures are engaging. Almost everyone in the class ends up with an A. I got A's in all my 3 previous classes with him.

Mixed feelings - He has a lot of knowledge about the HR environment but the Training And Development part might not be his thing. The book is dry and not interesting. He goes off the topic so easy. He is cool, great personality, happy and laid back! I learned a lot but he can improve this class!

Do not take this course. Especially if you value your education because you'll get nothing from it. Be ready for him to say "okay use this time to do group work" then he'll just leave. He also forgets where we are in the class (obviously no lesson plan). I anticipate to pass this course with flying colors but his idea of instruction is very unclear

Barksdale is a nice guy. He teaches entirely too many classes to keep straight. He doesn't give very much effort teaching due to this. He often leaves in the middle of class to check on another class so you are left there to sit around unattended. Getting an A is not very challenging because there is not a lot of work and no homework which is nice.

Easy class but the professor doesnt care how you do. I took a test this semester and missed 3 question and he still gave me 100%. Basically everyone gets an A but you dont really learn from the class. He shows youtube videos and random movies. He does not know how to teach. If youre looking for an easy A to boost your gpa this is the class.

You need to go to class, because if you have a questioned you are screwed. He wont email you back, so make friends and exchange numbers if you think youll miss a class. Other than that if youre looking for an easy A this is the class for you.
