He's a really good teacher if and only if you are willing to learn. There's a lot of extra credit in his class. Be prepared for tough exams that will make you think rather than just plug and chug

He's awful he runs through the lessons quick and he doesn't actually teach you anything. He just gets up there and talks the whole time The recitation doesn't help and the class as a whole is just unorganized. He does give a lot of extra credit but you still need 250 point total in exams or you'll fail the class. Half the class is failing right now

Comment:

Decca somehow manages to miss teaching the most important aspects of every topic. In a class often regarded as one of the hardest freshman engineering classes, Decca chooses not to do any full example problems in lecture. If you take him, prepare to do lots of self teaching outside of class. Expect class test averages south of 45%.

I went up to Decca on two separate occasions to ask if I could get points back on test problems that were clearly graded incorrectly. Both times he avoided eye contact with me, wouldn't listen to what I had to say, and never explained why I was counted off. He does a lot of things like this that make you realize he doesn't care about his students.

Not the nicest guy around, especially if you're struggling, but lectures are pretty solid. There is a decent amount of extra credit. If you get the material, passing is easy, and an A is not too hard.

His lecturing style is bad. He goes very fast and does not thoroughly explain how to approach problems. The homework is mediocre but the tests are extremely hard. He considers a 50% for test averages pretty good. So unless you want to study 24/7 for this class and be extremely happy for getting a 60% on your test, do not take it with Decca.

Can't understand him. He thinks everyone understands the topic already. Everyone stops taking notes after the first half of the semester because the effort is futile. Not a good teacher at all.

I honestly don't want to sound mean, but I only gave him 15 in each category because I can't give a Zero. He's got horrible hand writing supplemented with an accent. I went to his office hours and he replies in this cynical cocky manner. Unfortunately, you can't avoid this man. Good luck and god bless you..

Dr. Decca is a great professor. He is tough but he will make sure you know the material. Half the time he is not in the lab. As long as you do the labs, write in the lab notebook, come on time, and attend you'll get an A.

Decca is great man, if you are able to get past his intimidating exterior. He is a difficult teacher but will help you get to the answer on you own and will make sure you understand the process. He is also very, very nice to look at...

Decca is one of the smartest dudes out there, but DANG is he I tough teacher. Test averages were 32% for the first test, and 50% for the second. Many people will end up dropping, and other fail; I was one of them. He IS intimidating when asking questions in class, but otherwise he is a nice guy. Avoid unless you feel up to a juicy challenge.

A hard class to begin with that was not helped by a pompous know-it-all that would intimidate any student with a wrong answer. Hard to understand and hard to talk to instructor that failed about half of the class. Avoid at all costs.

One of the worst professors that I have ever had, his teaching assistant did better than Decca at teaching his material. He does make you feel intimidated to answer questions and will make fun of a wrong answer. If you can avoid, avoid.
