Dokey's a cool guy all in all, but he's an ideologue?one of those old hippie types?so the moment his presumptions are challenged he explodes. I saw him scream at a kid for doubting climate change. Big Post Modernist, though he?d probably deny it. Completely rooted in Counter Enlightenment clap-trap. Someone remind him Heidegger was a Nazi, please.

regret taking him,im a philosophy major and i grew very irritated, seemed lazy when asked questions, seems like teaching is just a past time to him. that may be okay for him, but irritating to me.

I found this teacher very frustrating. As a person who appreciates literature and philosophy, I was very much insulted. He mentioned that he once taught enlish, that is a joke. When quoting or mentioning the storyline of a book, he got half of his information wrong. Stay away!

So I got A's in all my other classes except for this one. There were 4 written assignments. On 3 of them I got a C, a C, and a B+. There was then a final paper and a 2 essay final that was open book. I was certain I was going to get a C or better, but apparently not. I got a D. He is very repetitive and is really critical.

If you're a serious student, ignore the negative comments. Dokey may not be easy, but he presents a challenge. I took Philosophy 006. His lectures always kept my interest, he grades purely on essay written tests.

This was one of the worse course I have ever taken, google him and you will see why. He grades your paper as though it were an English class, doesn't want your opinion and the class really does last 3 hours! I am an A student and I wish I never took this class. Don't do it!!!

I took Dokey for Philosophy 06 and just had to take him again for Philosophy 40...hes amazing...he does keep you there for the entire duration of the class, but the discussions are so interesting you dont realize three hours fly by so fast. Philo 40 was easier for me cuz he knew me by then, my name, my husbands name, it was cool! recommend strongly

Good teacher and interesting class. Just make sure that you dont include your own opinions in your essays, he only wants to know what you learned. You will get a good grade as long as you do the essays and show you understand the material in the class discussions. Funny guy!

I wouldn't suggest getting this teacher. He can teach okay, but when you have to do essays he doesn't want your opinion... and this is a philosophy class! He just wants a boring highly detailed summarization. What a joke! A lot of people got a D as a grade for his or her essay for a reason; he isn't flexible in the slightest nor does he endorse creativity.

I loved this teacher...Mr Dokey was fun from day 1...i didnt know squat about Philosophy and came out with a clean A...love his teaching style! i highly recommend!

I absolutely loved Professor Dokey's class...leaving philosphy was a bitter sweet moment for me. he has always been entertaining! sometimes you wonder if you are still learning philosophy. very fun class! i would recommend him 100%! Hey I got an A...that says a lot!

Great teacher. Very enthusiastic. Grades primarily in papers and class participation. The subject matter can be dry but it is easy to get caught up in the debates later in the semester. Guides thought along the lines of the teachings of historical philosophers not just your opinion of the subject at hand.

Lectures are very boring, I slept through a few of them. Go to class, he counts role as part of your grade. He grades based on your English and grammar ability.
