Comment:
In reality, he is a great lecturer--he knows the material cold and rarely utters an extraneous word in class. The problem is that the bankruptcy code is so complex and comprehensive and he tries to teach and explain nearly every bit of it (largely from memory); thus, it is hard to follow for those of us unfamiliar with the code.

He's a nice enough guy, but a terrible teacher. In fact, he doesn't teach. He just handouts disorganized notes with lots of extra material. He expects students to know the casebook, handouts, and bankruptcy code (yes, he wants you to memorize the numbers), but he does nothing to explain any of it. Four months of frustration and confusion. AVOID

Here's the thing: he seems to reach the right result. Everyone I've talked to got a grade in line with their other gardes. I don't know how Dole does it, and class will be a wild ride for sure. But at the end, the result is all that matters to me. So taking Dole will probably work out for you, but it will likely make you nervous along the way.

These classes are a total waste of time. You're going to have to teach everything to yourself. The summaries he provides aren't helpful on their own and do not parallel (at least not exactly) the text. So they create more work. No lectures create even more work still.

Dole's classes are almost impossible to follow. There's no structured presentation of the material. All we do in class is fail to answer questions on his handouts. I've lost too many hours this way.

Terrible professor. If you have a penchant for teaching yourself, you'll do fine in this class.

Horrible...horrible...horrible. Reads his lecture and has no clue what is going on in class right in front of his nose. Unquestionably the most boring professor in the profession today.

Passes out notes at beginning of semester...then reads from them in class. Senility seems to be creeping in, very disorganized.
