I enjoyed Dr. Forests class a lot more than I expected! The quizzes were challenging at times, but he made sure to review and practice the important stuff to be successful. My only complaint is that he can get off on very long tangents (which is annoying in a 50 minute class period).

Honestly I almost never went to class and I ended with a B. It's just reading of notes from a powerpoint, which you have access to on blackboard. You can also look at the notes when you're taking the tests online.

I took multiple classes with Dr. Forest and loved every one. He has a great sense of humor and is always willing to help. Knows his subject matter extremely well, and has first-hand experience in teaching ESL. Comes highly recommended. (Also...I'm not sure why nobody has mentioned this before, but he's quite the cutie pie.)

Amazing professor! The class was a little difficult as an underclassman taking a grad level class, but it was so worth it. The tests are all short answer/essays, but if you go to class and pay attention they are not that difficult. Take Rich for any class you can!

The course is easy, but it really wasn't what I expected. You will learn basic grammar rules, but not a lot about teaching them in your future classroom. There are four tests, three presentations and a final. Overall he is a nice guy who cares about the subject, but the class could be better directed towards teaching.

Although he is incredibly knowledgeable, he wastes class time on pointless things and hardly teaches grammar rules at all. I feel like i didn't learn anything that will stick with me, and as a language arts major for elementary ed i feel like it was a waste of time

He's nice and friendly, but he doesn't practice what he preaches! The Course is suppose to be about how to teach grammar so kids can understand and remember. But we didn't learn anything like that. Nothing that he taught us is going to stick with me in the future. Only 3-4 exams and one project but he doesn't cover what's on the exam.

I love this class! He is very helpful and entertaining. Some of his lectures can be boring but he's always ready for a laugh. Ask him about his tats! I got a pretty easy A and going to the writing center helps alot. Great professor because he trys to help and doesn't talk down to you.
