I highly recommend this professor. He's funny and always tells a good story. PARTICIPATION AND ATTENDANCE MATTER. If you don't show up to class, you won't pass. I literally never missed a single freaking day. If you know you'll miss a few days of this course, I strongly suggest you drop it or choose a different professor.

R. Goldsmith is an amazing French Professor. He is so passionate about speaking the language and will dramatically increase your proficiency speaking and your grammar knowledge. This is not a class to sit in the back and not respond to questions, because he will call on everyone. He will prepare you for tests so you know exactly what to study.

ya he's really good. Attendance is a must because the class is entirely composed of speaking. Your not there, you fall behind too much. Extremely helpful and patient. Likes his subject and the students.

Honestly I don't understand all the comments underneath mine. I am currently taking his French 3 and if you want to learn, he wants to teach you. He doesn't just speak French when he explains stuff and will go over things as much as you need until you get it. If you study you'll do great becuase he goes over everything on the tests.

This teacher spoke French without any accent. He is very knowledgable about the subject and adores French. He will keep you awake. He made the class interesting by conversing in French with every students and tried to learn everything about them through conversations.

Where do I start? This teacher doesn't care about how well you do on your tests. He only wants you to learn how to speak French. But what he grades you on the most is tests! His tests are hard and his personality is kind of sarcastic. I dreaded going to this class.

If you have a choice, take French with another teacher. Also take the past comments about this teacher seriously. He expects a lot from you and wants you to pick up the material at an amazing pace. He makes you lose interest with his style of teaching. He Doesn't care about students. I would say he is the first teacher that I do not like at Pierce.

He goes off on tangents. He talks too much about himself and not enough about French. I wish he would do his work as a teacher and make his own tests. He's lazy and gives ten page long tests that come with the teacher's manual. Try to avoid his class if you can!
