Comment:
Dr. Morrison is kind of an unconventional lecturer as science classes go. He doesn't write out notes really, but he really explains how everything works at a deeper level. Organic chem at UGA is going to be hard no matter what, but if you keep up with your reading and do your problems, Dr. Morrison is a good professor that can explain it all well.

Morrison is great. 4 tests with 1 drop, mandatory final, & turning point questions in class that are graded for accuracy. Be prepared to do a lot of practice questions & read the textbook. Dr Morrison teaches the material very well & only put what he teaches on his tests (makes it clear what you need to know).

Best professor I have ever had. He makes Organic Chemistry easy to understand and fun. The class is definitely a lot of work. GO TO CLASS and reinforce the material using the textbook. If you put in the effort, an A is doable.

Great professor. his lectures are not comprehensive, so you have to read the textbook well and do all of the practice problems. But he is very receptive to questions and will help you out when you need it. Ochem is hard no matter who you have, but I think Morrison is a good option as long as you work hard outside of class!

Dr. Morrison definitely is one of the best. While his lectures tend to leave out some of the details, he explains the material that is the most important that needs to be focused on. Just make sure to go to lecture, read the book, and do all of the problems.

There is a lot of reading of the textbook and lot of practice problems that are optional but necessary to do well in the class, but that's just the nature of ochem. He really animates lectures and is a great, understanding professor who really wants his students to succeed.

Ochem is a hard class in general, but Morrison was the best chemistry professor I ever had. He made me want to come to class everyday and learn. His little speeches gave me more motivation. He explains the content in a practical way for us to understand. Also, he's a very funny, caring guy. He wants all of us to pass.

Dr. Morrison is a good professor. He's very passionate about organic chemistry and tries his best to help students learn. His lectures are also very helpful if you read the book before coming to class. If you attend lectures, do all of the book problems you can find, ask for help when you need it, and study your butt off, a good grade is possible.

I really didn't like Morrison at first, but as the semester went along I realized that he was a good professor. His lectures can sometimes be a little slow, but he explains everything very well. Honestly this class has more to do with doing the problems in the textbook outside of class. If you put in the work, this class is very doable.

Dr. Morrison is my favorite professor so far. His passion in organic chemistry is obvious and you can tell he really wants to help you do well. He is the one that makes the tests the semester I had him and although they are hard, they are doable and usually have extra credit added to it. He is very caring and sticks to his word, except 4 sometimes

Organic is hard all around, but Morrison has really good lectures. Since he makes the test, the things he goes over in class are always on the test. All the information is in the textbook, but he helps you focus on the important parts of each section. He does not take attendance (rarely does clickers), but his lectures are very helpful.

Honestly, Dr. Morrison's class is not as difficult as a lot of people make it out to be. My only complaint is that pacing can get off from the syllabus. Show up to the lectures, keep up with the pacing assignments, do your homework and make sure you actually understand it; show up to office hours if needed. Dr. Morrison wants you to succeed.

His approach is very Socratic, in that you really learn together, and you only learn if you chip in with your two cents quickly and often. Youll learn a deeper approach to synthesis if you get the opportunity to take his class.

Dr. Morrison is passionate about the material. It is obvious in his lectures. He does a good job of simplifying complex material. However, he often got distracted and had to cram material for the test. Tests and the material is hard no matter who teaches it.

Morrison really knows what he's talking about in terms of lecture. However, he went really slowly at times and didn't cover topics that were on the test. He also goes off on tangent rants during lecture. Overall he is okay, but ochem is never fun to begin with

Comment:
Dr. Morrison was nice and clearly knew his chemistry, but the pacing of the class seemed kind of all over the place. A lot of important concepts seemed to not be covered in class, and I felt that I was expected to learn the material (which was difficult) on my own from the book. The tests were tough and there weren't many other grades.

Morrison is a great teacher once you figure out how the class works. He teaches the foundations for each chapter in class, you are expected to build on these foundations through book problems (all of them), and then he is available to explain any confusion you have in office hours. Ochem is hard with anyone, but Morrison wants you to do well.
