He is one of the best professors I have ever had, he cares about his students understanding the material and doing well. If you listen in class and do the homework you will do well in the class. I would definitely recommend someone to take Accounting 1 and 2 with him.

He's a great professor! Online hw mandatory to help ur grade, doesn't check in class hw but I suggest you do it before class so u can understand when he discusses it. Give sample exams, which helps a lot. Participate in class cuz he can round up ur grade if he remembers you. Always take notes and I highly recommend him!

I ignored the reviews and decided to give him a try and let me tell you, that was the worst decision I have ever made. He thinks he is the best teacher but he is not. His lectures are long and boring because he has no energy when he speaks. He doesnt do extra credit and you only have a total of 4-5 grades. Dont take him if you are not familiar wi

One of the worst Professor I have had at smc and this is my last semester. He doesnt respect students much and dont expect him to be nice to you for the rest of the semester if you dont get an A directly on the first exam.

All the salty ratings don't even sound like they're about the Prof. Knight that I know. Accounting sounded intimidating to me until I met Ridgway. He likes to lighten the mood with humor during his lessons, he's usually clear/concise, and grades very fairly. He is always hinting at test questions. Many online resources too. Just pay attention.

Comment:

Mr. Knight is a great professor. He teaches by doing a lot of practice problems, which may be hard for some to follow but personally I saw as helpful for learning how to do them on the tests. There were 4 exams and no cumulative final, which is amazing! As long as you study enough & do the review problems he gives before exams, you can get the A.

I took him during the summer, I would not recomend him to anyone. He completey mislead me from the begging of the course and he thought it was funny to fail me. I was so upset and is now filling a complaint with the ombuds office. I should have received a passing grade but I feel he illegally tampered my grade. DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER.

Mr. Knight is a class act. He has practice exams uploaded that are very similar to the actual ones you take, which are extremely helpful. He is very thorough in his explanations and makes the concepts seem crystal clear. His teaching style may not be for everyone, but I found it made everything easier to understand. Definitely recommend.

I dropped his class during the semester because I didnt like the way he was teaching. Instead I took the class with Platz who was much better. I ended up passing with with an A.

Rude professor. Wont be friendly with you if you dont get an A right away on the first exam. Boring lectures and goes through the material that takes you 1h to understand in 5min. Dont take his class.

He is honestly so overrated. Far from being the best teacher Ive ever had. All he talks about is how he assumes everyone wants to go to USC because his son goes there. He doesnt take time to really explain the material. By the end of the semester half of the class dropped. He can also easily make fun of you if you dont understand something.

He made learning accounting fairly difficult. I did not feel comfortable asking him questions because he does come off a bit rude when someone does. I end up dropping the class and retook the class with another professor and I was able to understand the material better and pass the class.

If I had to do it again I would take a different teacher. He goes through the materials really quickly and not all of us have done accounting before or are accounting majors. He doesnt offer extra credits so if you get a C at an exam its hard to go back to an A

I've been at SMC for 2 years and had the opportunity to take a class with Professor Knight during my last semester. I wish I had found him earlier. Out of the 18 classes I took at SMC he is by far, without a doubt, the best Professor I have had. That level of commitment to not only educate, but to teach on a personal level, is unheard of in College

KNIGHT IS THE BESTT!!! I failed acct b4 w someone else; I took it again w him & wondered why I failed the first time. He makes u understand acct SO EASILY. He ENCOURAGES questions & loves answering them no matter how much u ask & he doesnt make u feel dumb either. Hw: not graded but ENCOURAGED bc it helps u understand. I got an A! Thank u Knight!!!

For starters Ridgway is THEE best. I took his ACCTG 1 Course during the Winter Semester which is 6 weeks. If your good at math, and not working during those 6 weeks then the course is a breeze. Took his ACCTG 2 course in the following spring and the experience was similar to ACCTG 1. Provides practice tests almost all of the time.

HE IS THE GREATEST. Not only is he the best accounting professor I've ever had, but he is likely the best PROFESSOR I've ever had. He is really patient and never makes you feel dumb when your asking questions like a lot of professors do. He also offers a lot of online supplements like study guides and ALL the excel sheets used in class. 10/10

Super crystal clear lecture. HW load is way less than other profs which helps you to focus more on the material than spending hours on online assignments and data entry. I tried five profs before prof knight and I can guarantee you he is the best. he builds your accounting foundation. his test are easy if you practice. BTW he is super nice & caring

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE Prof Knight. He is clear & makes himself available. There are no surprises when it comes to the exams. If you pay attention & take notes then you will definitely pass. Textbook was supplemental; mainly used for homework. Tests are based on lecture material. DO all the work & you'll get an A. He's really sweet. NO extra credit opps
