Comment:
STAT 3331 has a reputation for being one of the hardest classes at Bauer. I thought the class was challenging at times but not impossible. Dr. Bregman's practice exercise are very good for preparing for the exams, his games too. He gives you all you need to succeed in the class. An A- or a B+ is definitely attainable with his resources.

well, I'm taking it again so that should tell you something :/ I have never had below a B in the class and I have a straight-up F now. The literal worst class I have taken in my life i have little hope to even pass next semester. Honestly, don't take it--but you'll probably have to and the best advice I have is to laugh away the pain.

Not even halfway through semester &thinking about dropping. First flag, bought the book he told us to& he told me he didnt know if itd work. Expects you to know it even if youve never taken stats. Sometimes idk if he even knows what hes doing. Jokes about us failing (even though its the reality). The games only help if you know whats going on

To be successful in STAT 3331, ALWAYS read the textbook before class, play review games if you're in Bregman, go to Staci's lectures, spend most of your time at tutoring lab, attend Friday's review sessions, AND go to LAUNCH tutoring at Cougar Village for STAT. Bregman may not be good at teaching, but he have great resources for online games.

Honestly, the most over hyped class at UH. If all the people that complained spent the same amount of energy trying to learn the material instead of whining and complaining, they prolly could've made a decent grade in the class. Just do the review games and do all the HWs and Dailies. If you're struggling go to the lab.

7 homework, 3 exams. 25 bonus points. Take his class but go to Staci's lectures. Bregman's study materials are NEEDED to get an A in the class and Staci's students do not have access to them. Do all the daily problems for bonus. Go to hw tutoring every Friday, they literally do the whole hw there. If you follow this, you're guaranteed at least a B.

Want an A? Take Bregman. He is not the best teacher but his slides and his exercises help out quite a lot. If you want a professor that teaches step by step in class take Staci. It is not hard to get a good grade in this class. Key to making an A: Make sure you practice a lot, make sure you score well on the first 2 exams and first 5-6 HW's.

Awful professor!! His lectures are pointless. Honestly, you can learn more about statistics by just watching paint dry.

Robert is really a good prof. and knows that the exams are harder than they should be. The one that makes the exams is THAT OTHER prof. Start going to dean to petiton to allow Robert to make his own exams for his students. He has great resources but will not hold your hand, you're an adult. Study and practice a lot! Don't slack! He's a good prof.

Take his course for exercises/games to prep for the exam and homework. But go to Staci's lecture! She helps you understand the lecture notes better and buy her class packet to follow. After each lecture, practice Bregman's exercises of the concepts that was taught in lecture to see if you really understand.

Yes, his lectures aren't good, but what matters the most lectures or EXAMS? His website has really great resources with exercises and games to help prepare for the exams which is "like" the Exam. His exam reviews shows you step by step on how to solve the problem and Staci's review only gives you the correct answer WITHOUT explanation.

His lecture consists of reading straight off the power point but hes a nice guy who tries to get his students involved. His website has really great resources with exercises and games to help prepare for the exams.

He has great power points and material ( excercises and games) to use for practice. His lectures are like an overview of everything, he just reads off thepowerpoint. If you struggle with math take staci. If you are good with math you should be fine with bregman as he gives you everything to practice the concepts.

I sat in class yesterday and realized he doesn't know how to teach his own material. Obscurely written questions and wants us to process info in a way that goes against everything we have learned the past 3 semesters. This class will hold me back from graduating this semester either because I will fail it or have to drop it. I hope he reads this.

Take this class if you can teach yourself. He expects you to come to class fully prepared or else you won't understand a single thing going on during lecture. That's why many students including myself stopped going. But afterall, if you're already good at Math then this shouldn't be a hard class.

All the negative reviews are most likely from people who don't want to try.. If you go to the lectures and get a basic foundation of the material, and then go home and really teach yourself, as well as PRACTICE, you will pass the class. This class is not meant to be easy. I would recommend this prof. over the other because of his website.

Don't expect him to teach you. HE WON'T. You need to practice, practice. However the way his class is structured is just GREAT. He has online "games" for you to practice (honestly they're the best. If you can do them you can do EVERYTHING on the exams). He goes over the dailies in class (but attendance not mandatory). 3 CASA exams.
