This was a veryyy easy class. u dont need to read the books (even though he discusses them). he says participation is mandatory but he has no idea what people's names r, so jus talk to him in office hours and ull be fine. 1 straightforward essay, midterms+finals are basically 5 key terms with a choice of 4. lectures are mandatory. take this class!

Great Professor! Talks about history like it's a storybook -- very engaging. He knows his stuff. Pretty biased, but who isn't nowadays? His prompts are very clear and his feedback is great. Assignments are clearly useful and he's very approachable. On the day of a final he wore a "got beer?" T-shirt. ;) Pretty rad!

Great Professor! His lectures are clear, easy to follow and most of all interesting. He is laid back and very helpful. The papers are relatively straightforward, tests are id's from lectures. The movies were also extremely interesting. Very good professor and one of the best classes I have taken. Highly recommend the class!

Great Teacher. Made learning about history really fun espcially since I had hated History prior to the class. Very fair grading as long as you listen to his lectures you will do well on the tests. He is also very helpful and will take the time to answer all your questions.

Prof. Chester is awesome! He is very approachable and will answer questions to the best of his ability. Two essays, three exams given throughout the entire semester. I would love to be a student in his class again. Highly recommend.

Pretty good teacher. He wasn't always on top of things -- we weren't shown a few videos on certain days b/c of projector problems, etc. Doesn't know everything, but he's a nice guy and his lectures are pretty clear. Tests (pretty much just IDs) and essays are straight-forward.

I thought the guy was awesome. Granted I had him for a ta and not a professor, but he seemed to know his stuff and was a cool guy to be around during discussion.

Thinks he knows everything, but actually gets a fair amount of facts wrong. Takes his lectures straight from the text, which makes them boring. Gives impossibly long study guides with stuff on them that he never covered. Clearly has his class favorites
