Not an approachable teacher. Retook the class with another professor and was far more successful.

He has been very approachable and incredibly helpful when asked questions. Make your questions relevant! His tests are very difficult, but if you put the time in to study and re-draw diagrams, you will succeed in class. He is teaching people who may, one day, be interacting with live humans - he isn't going to make passing easy. Work for it.

Dr. McMullen can be really rude at moments. I could not even approach him to ask questions or he would get angry. So some of my classmates had to help me with some things. I would not recommend him for anyone to take. He is not very helpful and gets angry very quick.

Dr. McMullen is a great professor. He will not hold your hand but, is clear about what will be on the test and what you need to know. It's a hard class but, you will learn the information.

He will tell you in class that his tests are "wordy" and he fancies himself an expert test preparer, however all of his online quizzes have wrong answers which he will admit but he doesn't care. How ironic! He spends a bunch of time covering topics not on the test, then will test you on things he did not cover. He does provide test reviews.

This is final biology class I am taking while I wait to get news if I made it into the nursing program. Had I known how wonderful Dr. McMullen would be, I would have taken him for 201 as well. I thoroughly enjoyed my 201 professor, but now that I am in Dr. McMulken's class, I could not be happier. He is very reasonable and approachable.

He is not approachable. During labs he is not very helpful or clear on what exactly he wants you to learn. You always have to be paying attention AT ALL TIMES. He may say things once and it will be on the test , or something in the reading.

Extremely difficult class, but will leave you with a solid understanding of A&P. My recommendations: 1. Read the text and be familiar with material before class. 2. Form a study group to do quizzes and lab exercises together. 3. Take full advantage of open lab times and tutor availability. Critical for high practical grades. 4. NEVER be late

I'm now in a Masters program, and this instructor has dramatically impacted my progression. If you are going into healthcare and want to really understand how body systems work, this is the teacher for you. Save money: don't buy the hardcopy text book, you have to get the electronic system and that comes with an electronic version of the text.

Kind of a hard guy to get use too, can be a bit brash. Though, his lectures are helpful and he keeps them kind of interesting. Expect to study, a lot. Not the easiest class but he is a good teacher. Exams are hard.

Dr. McMullen is by far the most knowledgeable instructor I've ever encountered in any discipline. You want to know the human body? Take his classes, and work hard You want an easy A? Look elsewhere, and die like your future patients. I will not hear one more slanderous comment about how he grades too hard when the stakes are what they are.

Here's the deal, Dr. McMullen is not going to hold your hand through this class. He is tough but he is fair. The truth is that your success depends on you! Print out his syllabus and USE it! This is the epitome of a University class. Set yourself up for success and you will not fail. You will have to put in the work to get the grade.

He provides clear criteria for in class exams and lab practical exams. The syllabus is very clear and even has hyperlinked notes for each chapter that lead to excerpts from the text you need to know. You will not be spoon fed, but you don't have to guess what you're expected to know. Lab is mostly what you make of it. Use your time wisely.

Dr. McMullen is a great teacher. He doesn't beat around the bush or sugar coat things. After every exam he'll write the high, low, average and median score on the board. Sometimes his stories are a little drawn out but they always relate back to what he's trying to teach you. You can go to any 201 lab and even his 202 labs if you need more help.

Biggest complaints, and fellow classmates agree: he is NOT active in YOUR learning, does not run classes (mostly labs) for the FULL scheduled time. This is a huge problem for me as I am paying for the FULL class and lab time, therefore, every instructor should afford students FULL class time!
