Dr. Miller's class is tough! You will learn accounting! I graduated in 1995, yet this guy still sticks in my mind as the CSUF accounting professor that helped me learn. I checked caring, oddly, because he taught for so long that he clearly cares about helping students become accountants. After college I worked for KPMG. Take his class! Carol

This guy is really old school. No curve no powerpoint no HW just two tests. He lectures really fast and you need to write down everything he says. You have to read and do the HW problems to have any chance of passing. The second test is much harder than the first. I read, did HW, made flash cards and passed with a C. Hard class.

I am a CSUF who graduated in Spring 2008. I'm a big supporter of Dr. Miller. Taking this guy's class, showed me how to approach business in an old school way which some people appreciate and some people don't. The ones who appreciate will be loyal&long partners. He is like the Al Davis of CSUF Accounting.

Miller is awesome! The material is pretty tough (and new) but he will walk you through it slowly. He is absolutely hilarious too. Listen to exactly what he says and take good notes (even his vulgar jokes-they will help you remember). No explicit questions on the statements but know how certain items should be classified & presented.

Dont take him if you're a future data entry person with an accounting degree. If you actually plan to become a CPA, he will prep you for it. Tests are challenging, and there's no curve...expects you to actually study and earn the grade! Only tests on lecture. No hw solutions on bb. 1st test hi was 78%, so step ur game up. Dont miss class & do hw!

Great Professor, you will learn a lot. YOU MUST do the hw no matter how time consuming or you will never learn. Pay attention in class because he gives you a lot of examples. Stays after class to help students despite late hour. Very knowledgeable. Tests are hard but doable. Got a B on midterm. Final grade not posted yet. Text is easily accessible.

Took this class for 403. He seemed very intimidating at first (no water bottles, no drinks, no food and a seating chart!). However, it turned out to be a pretty funny guy. He has really DARK,DARK humor... To pass the class just take GOOD notes -- dont miss a thing. The test are pretty much the notes and read the questiosn on the test CAREFULLY.....

The first and only class I have failed at CSUF. Studied my ass off for both tests, came out the class with a D. No real advice for you, he says he wont put certain things on the exams and then he does. there were like 10-12 questions about financial statements on the Final that he specifically said not to know!Good luck finding the textbook on time

the key to passing both tests is to do the homework when assigned and once again before the exam; you need to be able to do the homework by yourself with 0 mistakes. memorize the lecture word for word. know wat journal entries to make in ALL SITUATIONS! MUST know what to dr and cr, MUST MUST MUST. know where to account for things and everything!

WORST CLASS AND WORST TEACHER EVER!(didn't think teachers this horrible existed)..1)he will not help students, he will LITERALLY WALK OUT OF THE CLASS as students are trying to ask questions 2)he reviews questions and doesn't explain, he just reads and wont give you time to write answers down 3)EVERYTHING A TEACHER SHOULDN'T BE..i'm A/B student too

I heard he was hard and fails a lot of students, but if you study and pay attention in class you will do good. Mostly journal entries and he tells you what he will test you on. He is a good Professor, just misunderstood and very funny.

I would recommend this professor if you want to learn about govt accounting. He will make you understand the subject very clearly. Take notes of everything he mentions in the class(even jokes)and study them for the tests. About 70% of test problems are journal entries, and rest are from his lecture. Final seemed harder but I actually did better.

Ok, take his class if you are a truely genious or really really good in Accounting. By good I mean literally B+ to A+ or you are going to regret taking his class. No curve, 3 test and that's it. If you are planning to take him, be prepare to spend most of your time for his class only other than that, I guarantee you will fail miserably.

Hard to pass. He made very inappropriate jokes in class. My GPA dropped terribly, and I have to delay my graduation. He needs to cut back the number of questions on the exam to 25 questions like other accounting professors in the campus. Assuming everyone will sit for CPA exam, he won't

DO NOT TAKE HIM! Old, careless, conservative man, and never listen to students' needs. He doesn't use Blackboard, email, or any kind of technology and he doesn't return your phone call. 3 exams, 40 MC each. U won't have time to double check. He DOESN'T let you drop the lowest test and there is no curve. Test is so old & extremely hard to read.
