Very smart and kind man.Tough to talk to clearly since he's lost most of his hearing from war. Tests were literally copies of the study guide. Only thing textbook was used for was take home exams, class exams came from notes. Definitely buy his study guide!

its hard to feel in control of a class when the instructor is not consistent with the content. that is my biggest issue. i wouldn't recommend him.

He taught the material and the study guide was verbatim to the tests. Sometimes you have to look up the answers on the internet because you don't cover it at all in class. He is funny, but some people don't like his style of teaching very much. It is a pretty easy A. I would take this class again if I could.

I have had a relatively hard time in this class. My biggest issue is that he doesn't use BlackBoard as he is required to do, so if you want to know your grade in the class you have to talk to him personally. Avoid his class if you suffer from any learning disabilities.

He is a good instructor over all. Has a lot of world experience and as other said he gives a study guide that is a verbatim version of what he is looking for. It comes down to a memorization game at that point and I saw many struggling with it. No multiple choice, all written essay answers the more detail the better the grade.Never used book.

Very good teacher makes it interesting! Very light work load and he literally gives you the test in advance for you to study. You might have to take three or four pages of notes in class though.

He wasnt a very good teacher. Not helpful. Got mad when I asked him a question about our test. The work isnt hard. The work load is a little bit on the heavy side. I would stay away from him if I was taking the class again.

Took World Geography from him. Tests are unusual to say the least. He gives a "study guide" for them, but really these are word-for-word test answers he is looking for. You have to write everything out with few hints or choices. Lectures are interesting though. He has a lot of life experiences to share.

He was awesome. I really enjoyed his class and it wasn't very hard at all. I've gotten mostly A's. I recommend him, but only if your open-minded. He is very blunt and says whatever is on his mind.

I took this class and got an A.It wasn't difficult. As another user mentioned the study guides were verbatim to the tests. The instructor is difficult to understand at times because he is hearing deficient.I didn't feel challenged enough by this class and therefore cannot recommend it.I was encouraged to buy his study guide for 7$,we never used it.

This man not only teaches history but has lived it. He's a military man and has been to Vietnam several times. Very smart and respected. If you stay in the class, listen, and study on your own you'll be fine. you will have to make flash cards for his test and start studying every night a little. His study guide is his test it's just memorizatio

Good teacher, hard to understand @ times.Gives you a study guide which is exactly the same as the test,so if you research in the textbook(and some online),youll do fine on tests.Parts of personal life, however, dont always + up:claims to have been a NASCAR driver,a paratrooper, and was always surrounded by beautiful women.Class was always VERY amusing.

lectures his whole class. hard to understand.test are extremely hard. study guide is pretty much like the test but he don't go over the study guide so if you don't get it right on the study guide then its wrong on the test. he really knows his stuff though

Great professor, I really learned a lot. I am now taking two more of his classes this semester. He gives study guides that are word for word the test. It doesn't get any easier than that, if you pay attention you will have no problem.

A wonderful teacher, he knows his stuff and as long as you take good notes, you will be fine. Gives study guides with the test questions on them. Doesn't go by the book, instead lectures on an area at a time from his own study and knowledge. Wonderful professor.

Most people find him hard, but you just need to be prepared. He is difficult to understand on occasion, due to hearing dissability and he is an oppinionated liberal, but if you study, pay attention, show up, and show interest you will pass.

I loved this teacher!!! Has travelled the world and had lots of life experience, which makes history much more interesting than its usual boring state. Be sure to stay alert during class, if he says something, he only says it once. Ask questions loudly. He has double hearing aids. Great class!

Comment:
Take notes! Lots of notes. Tests are (usually) straight from the notes, but once he went off on a tangent and stayed there, then gave the test on what he was going to teach originally. Luckily there were study guides. Nice guy; has a sense of humor. Knows his history. Wrote his own book. People who do not pay attention or take notes WILL fail.
