Comment:

I wish I Dr. Golben taught other classes I need, or that I had disposable income and could just take his other classes. His lectures are great. He has such a dry humor, that I look forward to his lectures and getting to hear some new tidbit that busts me up. I enjoyed astronomy thanks to him. If you work the practice test, you will have the answer.

Greatest Teacher to ever walk to walk the face of the planet. Highly recommend taking and get ready for lots of corny physics jokes.

I took 213 and 214 with Dr. Golben and got A's. Class is 12 quizzes, 7 labs, and 4 tests. If you can work the problem sets and sample test you will be fine. He adds a 5 point extra credit problem to the end of every test, and offers even more credit post-test. 214 is a harder class, but that is because of the subject matter rather than his teaching

Great, funny teacher. Loves what he does. Really tries to give you everything you need solidly learn everything. Works though every hw problem in a video. Tests are tough. And take the full 2 hours to take.

Dr. Golben is a great instructor. I needed a natural science class and this was the one to take. Liked his puns in the lectures and the study guides for each chapter help exponentially. Moon Project is also fun, labs can be difficult to navigate, but are simple questions.

Dr. Golben may be the best professor that calhoun has to offer. He really knows what he is talking about, and has thorough explanations to every homework problem. His classes typically have 12 quizzes, 7 labs, and 4 exams (mostly not multiple choice).

Taking it as summer online class. Please read the deadline/syllabus in order to catch things up or work ahead. Book is necessary. Do your study guides (print them out). Do your quiz! He is really great at communication. I enjoy and learn a lot about astronomy. You won't regret taking him.

Dr. Golben is fantastic. If you are able to take him for physics, don't think twice about it. Take him! All of my cousins took him and they recommended him very highly to me. After taking him myself, I have only good things to say about him. His lectures are easy to understand, and he really cares about his students.

Although majority of the test and lab quizzes are on Quizlet, Mr. Golben expects all of his students to read the textbook for the class and watch his lectures; even though his lectures are boring. Mr. Golben's class is an easy A and he will do whatever it takes to pass his class! He's also really funny and super smart! TAKE HIS CLASS!!!

Everything is on Quizlet. The EASIEST class I have ever taken in my life. I would do it again. (actually no because that cost money I don't have but ya know) anyway super easy. Just print your study guides and go to quizlet and than take the test because they are word for word. Labs are not that hard either and very interesting. Passed with an A.

He's a great guy, great professor, and knows the material he teaches. Textbook not necessary for Physics 1 and 2. He loves giving extra credit. He lets you use a formula card for tests and gives partial credit for test questions when he can. Sample exams and clear solutions to them. Clear solutions for everything really. He's so organized!

Dr. Golben is a great professor, I took him online and it was a very easy class. Though, the lectures are lengthy and get boring but I got an easy lab grade for him. Would take again. He gives 100 study questions but 45 of them make up the test.

I hate physics (and I'm also bad at it), but Dr. Golben gives you all the material you need to succeed and do well! He's a very fair grader; he knows when you're trying and thinking the right way, and he gives you partial credit where he can.

Comment:

Dr. Golben is by far my favorite teacher. He has been great in both PHY 213 and 214. He goes over every type of problem on the board and even gives a sample test for each exam, so they are a breeze. The labs are easy but useful. As long as you work out the problems in his provided book, study some and come to class, an A is in order.

Im an engineering student at UAH and did not expect the physics to be hard at Calhoun, but I was mistaken. He is probably the best physics professor I have ever had and I definitely didn't think he was easy. If youre looking for an easy an A, don't take this professor. Very nice, and teaches really well. I wish he could teach all my classes.

I really enjoyed this class, he lets you use an old version of the book so I only spent $10 but the lecture notes helped more. If you do the study guides you will ace the tests & the moon project we did was fun. I knew I would like him because I had him for physics I. He's funny, smart, and easy on the eyes. Take him for all your physics needs. :)

I've taken all 3 of Dr. Golben's Physics classes (1 in class, 2 & 3 online) as well as his online Astronomy class. He is an amazing teacher & lectures are interesting as well as humorous. He makes his subjects, that sound like they would be hard, very enjoyable and almost easy. He is always available via email & gives extra credit when needed.

WONDERFUL professor. He made a class I was dreading, not just manageable, but enjoyable. Labs were very informative, and I enjoyed the online simulations. Quizzes were really simple. Tests were similar to his sample tests, but different enough to make you think- you have to understand the material. I had a great experience with the class and Dr. G.
