Comment:

The lectures over the most influential civilizations in history were some of the best lectures I've ever seen and if you have a passion for the topic this is the class for you, however, this was the hardest class I have ever taken. It is graded on 2 tests, both require the writing of about 8 pages for a good grade, and a 10-page term paper.

Comment:

Her lectures are highly unorganized. She has a PowerPoint but she will go through the slides very fast so that its difficult to take meaningful notes. She also will not upload them to BlackBoard. She often jumps around the slide and makes no meaningful connections. It's very hard to understand her or learn anything from her lectures. Avoid her.

HORRIBLE. SHE WAS HORRIBLE. DO NOT TAKE HER!!!! If I got an A+ and I'm begging you to not take her there's something wrong. DO. NOT. TAKE. HER. If you value your mental health, GPA and overall social life do NOT TAKE HER. BEWARE!!

This class was extremely disappointing. She rushes through the slides so fast that no one can write everything down. Her essay exams are based on the lectures, but she goes through them so fast you miss information. It is a hard class with a lot of information to take in, and the teacher and her TA do not make it any easier for the students

Great professor. Exams are essay based and she give you the reviews for it. Lectures are important to go to. Thats where you get your answers for the exams. Good notes are a must. There is a final paper due but you get to choose what you want to write about so its easy. Overall great teacher and easy class as long as you apply yourself

She has no idea what she's talking about half the time and goes way too fast in her lectures. She assigns a 25 page paper, and the tests are difficult and timed. Listening to her speak will put you to sleep and her TA does all the grading.

I am currently taking her Flowering of the Middle Ages class. DON'T MAKE MY MISTAKE! The lectures havent been updated in ages, has the feel of watching really long infomercials. The syllabus is confusing, im never sure exactly what I'm supposed to read and the online readings are in teeny tiny, undecipherable text.

I took her for the crusades class. She is nice, and very calm which is very good in times of high stress. She is very smart and educated ! Ask her questions ! It is very important that you do !

Taking her HIST 3379 online. First thing, she did not update the syllabus. Secondly, there is a 25 page term paper, 10-11 text, 11-12 pictures, and 1-2 bibliography. If you work over 20 hours a week, I do not recommend this. Make sure you take detailed notes for the lectures and read the textbook, the midterm review has 10 questions, the final 8.

3379 Online was a substantial amount of work. 20 page term paper. Her recorded lectures online were exceedingly dry, especially when you have to listen to the forced discussion. So unbearable, I stopped watching them and just studied from the text. Thankfully my section had a great TA who was very flexible and I still managed to do well.

Tough, boring class. I did enjoy learning about the vikings, but it was real dull. Some info was more interesting than the others. She has lots of papers and work to give out, lots of reading, tons of writing. She's a sweetheart, and is very informative and explains and answers questions well.

Took Flowering online. Dr. Vaughn is very nice, class is taught by several profs from difft depts. Some good, some a bit boring. Grade consists of 3 papers and 1 final exam - all very easy, looks for themes not details. Easy A without reading all the books.

Dr.Vaughn is an excellent professor. Her lectures aren't particularly the funnest, but the material is interesting. The class can be a little challenging with all of the reading, but its manageable if you give the effort.

Teacher changes syllabus half way through semester. Emphasizes attendance-does not consider in grading. Allows arrogant TAs to down students. Teacher sleeps in class-does not lecture in Capstone-I enrolled to learn from an expert, not students (read and discuss).
