Comment:
This professor seems to make a habit out of calling out the students who struggle, and does not think twice about laughing or exclaiming something loudly when the class does not know something. Also, if you don't know your Bible stories, you will disappoint her.

She does not teach well. Spends too much time on the culture stuff when I really just want to learn the grammar.

I had professor Clevenger for the interim part of Spanish 121-122. Very sweet lady, very laid back, started class late and let us out early. Her homework was easy. She was slightly disorganized and not academically rigorous. Perfect for the interim but I'm not sure how well a semester of that would go. If you are in 122, she is a must have.

During class, she calls students out randomly to answer the questions she asks and sometimes lets them suffer through it if they don't know the answer. Some of the homework is optional. She is very nice but not the best teacher. However, she is flexible with a lot of the due dates. I'd recommend her if you just need to finish SPA for core credit.

Very sweet, patient lady. She grades generously and plays games with you to learn vocab. Her class is pretty laid back and flexible. Not the greatest prof ever but she's not at all bad. I enjoyed her class and would recommend it.

Comment:
Professor Clevenger's class is very disorganized. However, because she is disorganized, she's very flexible when it comes to handing in work on time. If it's late, she won't mind at all. 1/2 of the class didn't want to be there which made it hard on those who actually want to do well in the class. I don't recommend her for spanish minors or majors.

She is very friendly, very old, get on her good side by going to her office early. Weird grader and can be kinda on and off with strictness level, but not the worst Spanish prof.

Great prof- very nice, interesting. She makes class fun. A little scatterbrained at times, and can seem inconsistent in grading, but wonderful WONDERFUL person. Really fun to talk to- ask her about her life and Spain.

Not a prof at all. If you take her, be prepared to teach yourself everything. She speaks Spain Spanish - very difficult to understand! The entire class stares at the clock until the class finishes - it's the only amusement we receive during class.

Not a good prof at all. She laughs at you when you mess up yet she enjoys calling on the kids who don't know much. Not very helpful and not very kind in my oppinion. You better know how to read a texbook if your taking this prof cause she doesn't teach well

She tried really hard to help, but at a 100 level she doesn't realize we still need to be taught, not just told what to do. She is also unorganized and doesn't stick to the due dates on anything. OH.. she didn bring food once... but that doesn't balance out our failing test grades..

Spanish is one of the reasons I'm transferring out of Calvin, and Cleavenger didnt help. She sails right through the course just to finish, even if the majority of the class is obviously left in the dark.
