Comment:

If you put in effort, and Dr. Schnell sees that, you will do fine in his classes. Have a good attitude, and he will have a good attitude with you. Be sure to take notes, and that is the best way to study for his exams. I would recommend him to anyone actually interested in economics! You will learn a lot!

Comment:

Schnell teaches straight out of a binder of his notes and personal ideas. The book is useless. He does not have office hours, you must an appointment to see him and even then he is highly unhelpful. He is only able to explain things in one way and if you don't understand he cannot explain the concept in a different way that you can understand.

Extremely rude, egotistical, and condescending to students. Not very dynamic in explanations of things. He has one way of explaining things and if that doesn't work for you then too bad cuz you're just going to hear it repeated over and over. No textbook for this class, so that exacerbates the problem. Half the class dropped

Attend class, take good notes, do the problem sets and you should do above average in the class. Ask questions, he likes questions. A little intimidating, but he really wants to help students learn the material. Has review days before test, so make sure to ask all the questions you can think of. It has been my favorite class at UAH so far.

This guy is nice, but the material is all based off of his knowledge. You MUST attend classes to understand it, however he doesn't explain the material well enough for you to really understand. I wouldn't recommend this teacher because of his teaching methods. Each problems needs to be explained, and he takes you all around the world.

Not as bad as everyone thinks. He takes a bit of getting used to and can seem cranky at times. Once you adapt to what he expects and his personality, he's quite funny. Don't take this class if you are used to grades being handed to you. You won't be bored in class and it flies by, but you have to work for your grade. What college classes should be.

RUN! This guy is a total jerk. He is a weasle that thinks he is above and beyond the students. Really not sure why he teaches since it seems to be such a burden. Take any other professor if at all possible. If you apply yourself the material is no problem but the attitude is near intolerable. No book needed either, save your $.

This man is completely conceited and ego maniacal. He must think he is Myron Scholes by the way he acts. He actually made a 40 something year old lady cry in class patronizing her because she did not understand. She was quite studious too, just did not grasp the concept. I dropped him on pure principal and took the class elsewhere.

He's very strict and can come off as a jerk, but overall he's fair. YOU MUST TAKE CALC w/ Applications before taking this class, otherwise the graphs wont make any sense. He will expect you to know derivatives (Cost and Revenue functions).

Bad points of him and the class: pace is fast considering the material covered during the semester; hard to get all notes down and understand the material at the same time in class; sometimes a little rude. Good pts: does try to help when he knows you're having a hard time and when you ask for it; helps when clear you're trying and working hard.

He is not as bad as the reviews make him out to be. He is challenging and does use alot of graphs to teach. You do not need the textbook for his class and though the tests are difficult he gives several oppurtunities for extra credit

Avoid, avoid, avoid. I had to drop him. Honestly I think he's a good guy, but he's impossible. All he does is draw graphs and you're furiously taking notes for an hour and a half until the end and you realize you didnt understand anything he said.

Don't get me started on him. If you can avoid this person that needs to retire, DO!! You need to be a graphics art major, and have done VERY VERY well in Calculus to pass this class. His charts are off the chart.
