He is very passionate about the material. Lecture is interesting and taught at a nice pace. Homework is easy and follows the lecture notes exactly. He is very helpful in office hours. Grading scale is very generous, most people get and A or A-. All you have to do is go to class on time and you will have a great time, learn a lot and boost your GPA.

By far the best prof I've ever had. Every lecture perfectly builds on the last. Professor Meerkov teaches it in a way that dummies like me can understand (on the whiteboard with examples). His office hours are super helpful- he directly helps with hw. Some ppl dislike his attendance policy (dont be late), respect him and he respects you, simple.

I have a job so I couldn't make it to lecture. It'd have been nice to be included in the class with online not postings or even simply having thorough solutions posted, as my other responsibilities prevented my attendance. Also, the material presented on final barely matched the homework to date so I felt very unprepared for that test

Hard professor to talk with one one one. He can be disrespectful and asks unfair things of his students. For example, he sent an email asking his students to give a good review on this website after he saw a bad rating. This is the second email he wrote about evaluations of him after the semester has already ended.

Professor Meerkov strikes a fine balance between fostering conceptual understanding and presenting worked examples. Lectures are fast and dense but also organized and easily digestible. Grades are determined mostly by two exams but attendance will greatly minimize difficulty of exam curveballs and is mandatory for internalizing key concepts.

It is clear that professor Meerkov enjoys teaching control systems, and he has a thorough knowledge of the subject. He expects a lot from his students, and rightfully so. Students who are not willing to come to class or seek his help outside of class will not do well, and some reviews reflect this, which is unfortunate because he is a good teacher.

I think his lecture is good for understanding the knowledge in control. One possible improvement maybe the rules of class, sometimes being late for a lecture should be tolerated.

Very good professor, explains topics clearly in lecture and goes over the background and theory needed to understand the material. Handwriting can be a little messy at times so I wish the lecture notes could be posted for reference. Homework is representative of lecture material but some lab material feels more difficult than what is discussed.

Of all the professors I've had, Prof. Meerkov has had the worst style for me to thrive in. It's clear he believes in respect between professor and student, but his lack of available resources to encourage learning outside of his lectures is disheartening. He should try to focus on teaching rather than enforcing attendance of lectures.

Amazing professor; he really cares! He spends time to make sure you learn and understand the content. I learned a ton about control systems and found the class incredibly valuable. If you make sure to attend lectures and show up on time, then you'll have a great experience. The level of difficulty is perfect for the material and very fair.

Terrible class administration skills, plus too theory heavy. I feel like a younger professor would have taught the class in a more applied and engaging way by making full use of the technology available to us now including more advanced simulation software and effective online class administration. Oh yeah, he doesn't post anything useful online.

Let's just say that I was on the fence about Meerkov. He's good at lecturing and his notes were clear. But, I've settled on my opinions on him. In the past week he sent out 2 emails COMPLAINING about students giving him bad evals (including ones on this site). I've NEVER had a prof who couldn't handle facing the truth more than him!

A textbook Prof who would send you out even if you are late by a few seconds. Good course content. A seasoned professor, who takes the class with passion. Weekly assignments.

Prof. Meerkov gives us a great introduction of nonlinear systems and control. I love his unique opinions on some lecture contents which you may not be able to get from textbook.

In lectures he would always explain why the theory was important and give brief historical overviews of who developed it. Could tell he was really passionate about the field. Only criticism was he didn't do a great job of time management, but it was the first time teaching the class in a while. So I'm sure this will be better in the future.
