Comment:

Amazing professor; his approach to teaching is different than most I have encountered. He is hilarious and jokes with the students all the time. I was already fluent in Spanish, but if you pay attention and study a little bit, easy A. Very worth it. You do learn a lot of vocab. TAKE THIS CLASS.

Comment:

One of the nicest, and funniest teachers and people I have ever met. However, not the best for actually learning Spanish. Always let class out early, and did not thoroughly teach concepts. Poor classroom management. Leaves you to learn a lot on your own at home. The online coursebook is awful. Homework is a nightmare. Takes forever, learn nothing.

Comment:

Señor Mason always made me laugh so hard; I always looked forward to his class. But I wish he would've gone over the concepts a little bit more. I wanted to take more notes instead of do tons of activities and watch movies. But I loved his class nonetheless. Hard to really LEARN the language though. Also, he always let us out early. Big plus.

Comment:

Explains things clearly (and hilariously). Games and activities in class made things fun and helped reinforce the information. Participation required but not for credit (it's a language class, you have to speak). Gives partial credit on tests and homework. Class rarely lasted the whole 3 hours. Allowed food.

He was such a great and understanding teacher. It was obvious that he cares about education us. I would definitely take him again if I ever wanted to take Spanish again. 11/10

Prof. Mason is an amazing professor to have; his lectures are always fun and engaging. He does not speak Spanish a lot in the classroom, as he uses English to explain the concepts. His SPAN 411 class has a lot of homework online, it feels like a hybrid course, but it is helpful and you will learn a lot about Spanish grammar in the class.

Señor Mason is my favorite professor that Ive ever had! Great funny lectures. He loves movie references, his family, his students, and Jack in the Box tacos. After years of teaching high school Spanish, he is sympathetic toward non-native Spanish speakers. Most of his lectures are in English with activities and games in Spanish. TAKE THIS CLASS!

Comment:

One of my favorite professors! Señor Mason made Spanish fun, you learn so much with the activities he has and the homework he gives. It's very helpful that Spanish is not his first language because he recognizes the issues we have. He is also hysterical and will keep you laughing throughout the whole class. While you do have fun in his class, you will also become more comfortable with Spanish. I cannot recommend him enough, one of the nicest and coolest professors in the biz! :)

My wife and I took this course together and we both agree that Señor Mason is by far the best teacher ever. He is not a native speaker which allows him to show some compassion during your struggles. Great guy that really enjoys teaching. I highly recommended Señor Mason.

Señor Mason is the most empathetic and helpful teacher I have had in my life. I have had amazing teachers in the past, however he takes the cake. He is so funny and nice. You find that the class is actually enjoyable and something I look forward to every week. I would give him five stars and I HiGHLY reccomend taking his class.

Spanish is hard but Mason makes it fun and easier to understand. I took his class for 402 as well. I have had a lot of Spanish in school but he is the BEST! Don't expect Spanish to be a breeze, it's not, but Mason had to learn it too so at least he gets it. I couldn't recommend him more!

Hands down the BEST teacher at FLC. Hilarious, clear, goes out of his way to make sure everyone understands the material. Great at communicating with students. Approachable, easy-going, and did I mention he does part-time stand up comedy? Because he does. Again, one of the best teachers I have EVER had and by far the best at FLC.

A great teacher! Truly a gift to have as caring and nice as this man. He knows his stuff, and shares many funny stories etc...to keep it interesting. I struggled with tests, written & oral. Just show up for every class, participate and try your best, he takes that all into account.

Senor Mason is an excellent teacher, I was not enthuised about taking spanish but he truly made the class enjoyable. I have signed up for SPAN 402 in the Fall. I highly reccomend taking his class as a first option. If no seat is available wait until to semester. Great guy.
