Comment:

She gives you everything you need to succeed from the beginning of the class. Yes the studying is a bit much along with the workload, but she has office hours available, and in my semester TA's available, to ask about the material who know what they're talking about. It's worth attending the review sessions.

Comment:

Grades the essay portion of her exams harshly. For most of exams she did not go over some of the material and I was not able to find it in the book so this made essays even more difficult. MC portion of exams is easy. She is high energy and passionate. A little excessive with the work load, acts like its the only class you are taking. Overall Great

Does NOT preach her political views which is a rarity for today's professors. WAY TOO MUCH WORK. She piles on every possible assignment, 5pg Essay, 4 exams w/ essays, tons of online quizzes, group project, tons of reading, extra credit. Awesome professor and awesome class just too much work for how much you need to learn. Cuts into study time.

Comment:

Super passionate about Political Science. Amazing lectures that break down really complex / scary info into understandable terms and examples. She really sparked my interest in just being aware, which is critical to be an active member of our society! HEAVY hw load, group project was so much fun. Worth taking seriously. Absolutely recommend!!!

This class had so many requirements, that I couldn't finish this semester with my load of classes. This class was so informative, so involved, there are aids to help you, study nights before the tests, and amazing study guides. Repetto truly wants you to succeed, but be prepared to work like a 8 unit class. She really is an awesome professor!

Take her. She gives you everything you need to pass and makes learning about government a lot of fun. If you do all of your work through the semester, and maybe some extra credit, you'll get an A without having to take the final. Deanne Repetto is awesome. Highly recommend.

She wants everyone to succeed and is very passionate about the subject, which, in my opinion, makes the class ten times more fun. I was never excited about anything with politics because I don't understand it, but she made it make sense. Tests aren't difficult if you use the study guide she gives you.

I went into this class dreading it. Now that I am actually in it it's one of my favorite classes; however, this does not mean it is an easy class. There is a ton of writing and a ton of exams. As long as you do all the work you'll be fine and if you screw up there is a ton of extra credit to do.

She is awesome! The class isnt easy but she gives you the tools to succeed. She is so passionate and makes learning fun. Doesnt lecture, but uses different avenues of teaching that keeps you interested.

While this is definitely not an easy class, it is definitely one of the most informative classes I've taken at FLC. Deanne is passionate about the subject and she wants to see each student succeed. Each test includes an in-class essay (chosen out of 3) the difficulty for each at par w/ a midterm. Difficult, but incredibly rewarding class!

She is an incredibly good and horribly difficult teacher. I was one of only about 2/32 who received an A- or above. She "a political junkie" and it shows, but that is not bad. She sparked me interest in politics in a way I never though possible. She continues to be one of my favorite teachers (took class Fall 2010).

Deanna is a great teacher with command of the subject. She has a great poker face on hiding her personal opinions and challenges students to see both sides of an argument. She must become more technologically adept and stop babying students. Tons of extra credit and long leashes on students. Overall, one of the best.

I merely wanted to rate her because she is one hot teacher.... but she is also a great one. It can be a very dry subject but she does make it interesting. I left with a very good understanding of the material, but I have never worked so hard for a decent grade in a GE

This class was difficult in some ways but Deanne is a terrific teacher as far as contagious enthusiasm goes. The difficult things mainly included a TON of reading and studying in order to get an A on a test and sometimes the exams covered material that she didn't have time to go over in class. But other than that, I learned so much and am grateful!

Comment:

She was very helpful and made POLS interesting. Exams were tough but she gives 50 pts extra credit which makes the class feasible. Just watch out if she drinks coffee: she will talk 100 mph and taking notes will be impossible.
