I think her class was challenging. I was pushed to the limit. How to get a 3.0,salutation,reciprocation,txt support (2), and proof of online links. show these four on your posts and you'll be fine. To get good score on quiz read the chapter before taking the 10 min quiz and you will be fine.

The Mondays timed chapter test is hard even though its only 5 questions and 10 minutes to answer it. Discussion questions are due on Fridays instead of Sunday.It's hard for people who are working fulltime to work on your assigments on weekdays. I am taking an online class with Prof. Townes and I do not understand the negative comments. Townes is a tough instructor, no doubt, & expects much from students, but is also very clear & specific about what is required to excel and improve one's coursework. Prof. Townes takes the time to give constructive criticism to every assignment and student.

do not take online course. No feedback. Bad questions from text. Interpretative answers and questions. Do not agree with her projected view, you will do bad. She makes a huge deal about not logging in everyday. One often worse classes I have ever taken. She should two teaching. Leaves you uninspired.

I took her class 2 years and was unable to continue due to health issues. I had a ball in her class. She's hilarious and I had so much fun with my group of classmates. She's tough, no doubts about it, so come to class prepared. She will call you out in class if you are late or are otherwise disruptive.

Doesnt demonstrate professionalism; argues like a 3 year old throwing a tantrum w/ any student who disagrees w/ her;unclear about what she expects on assignments,and then grades unfairly;plays favorites w/ those who agree w/ her views;and makes everyone call her "Dr". Lectures are interesting and often fun. But the teacher is a VERY HARD GRADER. You never knew what she expects from you. She did not return the assignments, so you did not know your grade. She displayed UNPROFESSIONAL behavior because she did NOT REPLY TO EMAILS.

I you happen to not agree with her progressive views, then she is no longer objective with you. From that point on, she almost ignores you at the discussions, because she prefers to hear people validating her views. Very unfair grader.

She is negative towards anyone who expresses a different opinion than hers, and that shows in her behavior. She never replies to emails. She has weekly quizzes and assignments. She does not return those assignments graded. The quarter is almost finished and I have no idea about my final grade,as it depends mostly on the final paper and presentation

I don't know what these other people are talking about .. shawn was amazing. she's so helpful and a really understanding person. Because of her class I view life completely different. I would highly suggest this professor, she makes things VERY interesting and is always willing to help any student who puts forth effort.

This professor was not objective in their grading of me in this class. I continuously asked for help and was belittled. I went into the class with excitement, and now I have had to drop the class because of the professor. This professor is not helpful and when I asked for help they were extremely rude.

This class really made me WANT to go to school. It was an extremely useful and entertaining class. Dr Townes is inspiring but you need to DO what she says in order to get a good grade - the way it should be. Take this class you won't regret it!

Interracial Comm online. Requires 3 weekly class discussions. A 10min quiz each week. The txt is easy to read. No finals or midterm, just one group paper. The Prof. is very helpful. Easy class, just do the reading.

online class.She was the least helpful and most unclear prof I have ever taken.Painful and boring.Along with the rest of the class I watched her be unprofessional, rude & chastising to several students and show blatant favoritism.Took a subject that should have been interesting and made it miserable.I would NEVER take another class from her.

The best Teacher Iv had at Foothill. I have no clue what these other people are talking about but they are not talking about Dr.Tows. she is super nice east to talk to and the home work is not to bad. The class discussion were great. over all she is a 9 out of 10. I got an A in her class
