Comment:

Deshpande is a really great professor and uses examples in lecture over what we just covered. Having the textbook is a must -- he draws the HW problems (and bases the exam questions) on the practice problems AND it helps supplement lecture. Best way to do well in the class is practicing those problems over and over again

Very informative and knowledgeable and helpful but you take his exams after studying for days and come out feeling you did bad. Got C plus on 2 exams and B plus on first exam (easiest). Studied for 3 days mastering all practice problems given

I really liked Deshpande. He wasn't too difficult though his lectures are dry. 4 tests and 5 homework assignments make up your grade. He is also helpful during office hours

Comment:

Best professor I have ever had. He is so clear, concise, and explains difficult material so easily I'm sure a 5th grader could understand it. It's been a great foundation for the rest of my Finance classes. TAKE HIM!!!

Comment:

Deshpande is a sweet little man who has really clear lectures and is very helpful. I hated the subject of finance but he was a good teacher. The excel homework is useless but I think it is required by the department. Love him though!

I love deshpande! his lectures are good because he gives lots of examples and he doesn't make me fall asleep. his tests are short, 30 questions, so make sure you take notes in class because they are based off of that. you need the book because he assigns homework from it. if you ever need help go to his office hours because he is really helpful.

Deshpande is a nice guy, but do not take this class unless you absolutely love finance and are willing to dedicate tons of time preparing for his ridiculously hard exams. Exams together are worth 85% of your grade so if you aren't a good test taker or you want a professor who gives any extra credit, he is not your guy.

Prof. Deshpande explains well and helpful during office hours. Grades are on HW Assignments, and on three Exams. The exams were challenging. If you had the choice take it with a different prof, it may be better.

The clearest professor I have ever had. Make sure not to go to class because his soothing voice will lull you to sleep. Our class called his Shreeshbot, because he seems so automatic when answering questions.

Seriously, TAKE HIM FOR THIS CLASS!!! He's a great professor and knows what he's talking about. I took a Financing Real Estate class as an elective this semester and it was SOOOO easy because Professor Deshpande taught FINA 300 so well! If you pay attention in class and understand, it will be easy to get an A in the class =)

Difficult to say the least; spent endless office hours with him for those excel assignments and would still get problems wrong ...that I worked out with him ... In lecture he goes over the easy stuff a million times then sidelines you during the exam with things he really didn't cover in class. I took this class based on prior reviews huge Mistake!

Prof Deshpande is great! Very clear teacher and tests are 30 questions multiple choice. Study hard for them because if you miss a few its a bad grade. Hes very clear in office hours and the excell homework really helps, so do it!

Best professor i have ever had at usd! seriously he has made me look at finance differently. I dont want class to end. Its hard to believe that you wouldnt want a class to end but i am serious! he is sooo crystal about everything. I understand perfectly. Seriously take him. Best professor ever!

Professor despande was a substitue for my fina300 professor for a couple of days! He teaches soo clear, and wants you to learn everything. he gives real life examples, and teaches you until you get it. the best finance professor i've had thus farrrrrr!

do not buy the book, waste of money. all tests are multiple choice. cool guy but very soft spoken. go to class and take notes or you wont understand anything on the test. tests are all computations and vocab for the most part.
