Make you make fiends and go to class. There are open book/ discussion quizzes everyday throughout the class. There are only 1 paper for the entire semester, and it is fairly easy as there is no citation required.

Comment:

Super easy class. I missed a few of his lectures and still got an A. It's a long class but he lets you out early. Quizzes given at the end of every class which is based off of the lecture so if you pay attention, you will pass. He's very nice and caring. Gives plenty of extra credit. 1 paper, 1 small group presentation, 3 midterms, and 1 final.

- Attendance isn't part of the grade BUT he does the pop quizzes so make sure you come at the end of class like I did :-) - Make friends with people around so you can help each other on the tests & quizzes -The lecture is boring but take notes so it can help you when you do your quizzes

He is so boring. It's tough to follow along becuase his approach to lectures. Very slow paced and continuously repeats himself. He does however give you some indication of the questions he will ask on the test. In order to know this, however, you have to pay critical attention to what he is saying.

He has dry humor. He'll drop something funny in the middle of the lecture out of the blue. 2 group presentations, 2 midterms, 1 final. Midterms and final are online, you don't have to come to class. Textbook isn't really needed. Quizzes either in class or online, you have to show up to class regardless. He lets you out early, so that's good.

He was a very easy professor for 33A but he is really difficult for this class. His test questions are worded strangely and can be confusing. The groups presentations are okay. But his class can get really boring with so long lectures. But he always ends class early.

His lectures can be boring at times but always ends class early. You only write one paper and he does online quizzes. All his midterms are online. The questions can be really difficult but if you go to his lectures he will tell you what is on the exams

This guy just rambles in class, thick accent and completely unorganized. He reads off the presentation during lecture and gives random examples that aren't necessary and distracting.

Comment:

Lectures were straightforward but when it came to the online exams and quizzes, there were always those tricky questions. For example, "which of the following makes the least sense..." However if you do all the essays and get good grades on the tests and quizzes, you should get at least a B. Also, he doesn't accept late assignments.

I forgot to buy the textbook for the class so I didn't have it the whole semester but it wasn't really required. His quizzes and tests are easy, you don't really have to go to class either.

There are 2 essays, 2 midterms, and weekly quizzes (online), but BEWARE... his quizzes and midterms are EXTREMELY tricky/hard. Almost every question asks "Which of the following is NOT..." rather than which of the following IS the answer. Overall very difficult to get a good grade and would not recommend Professor Choi.

The midterms are online and the professor is pretty funny and seems to know the material well. There are two group presentations where he assigns the groups but he's an easy grader. His exams are difficult if you don't read the textbook. Also, there is term paper that is really easy. Overall, his class was easy and very straightforward.

Comment:

Professor Choi claims that he's "Mr. Nice Guy", which is partly true. In this semester, he's more lenient to his students by offering extra credit. However, extra credit was offer because his students did poorly on their midterms. His online midterms are very tricky. There's 2 papers, 2 online midterms, and a final. Overall, not a bad professor.

If you attend lecture & take good notes, you'll be fine. His exams are online, but the questions are pretty difficult. Sometimes he gives in-class pop-quizzes after lectures, but they're only 2 questions & are pretty easy. Just make sure you work hard on essays & review for the exams.

I took Choi during summer in which there were 6 exams, 2 group projects, and a final. 1. Pay attention and take notes on the lecture. 2. Exams are 90% based on the lecture. 3. The course reading is listed but VERY MINIMAL. If you reference his lecture and additional details in the book, you'll do fine. 4. You have to work for an A.
