Stephanie is an amazing prof who definitely is passionate about what she is teaching. Although she gets side tracked very easily she is there to help her students. If she believes a student can do a better in an assignment then shes giving them a makeup assignment up to them to do, but to give them a chance to prove they can do better

Stephanie is okay and is nice, she gets side tracked very easy and movies are played in class. feedback is not very helpful whatsoever, and I was made to feel very dumb when I asked for help. The one good thing about this prof is she puts all the books,essays,and short stories on the course reserve so purchase of most books are not necessary.

Stephanie McKenzie is an amazing person and a pretty good professor, while she tends to get sidetracked frequently, she provides her students with all the tools needed to succeed. She provides excellent feedback and is very lenient.

Comment:

Stephanie is a lovely person. She'll do her best to help you and is very understanding when it comes to missing assignments or needing work to be postponed. She engages the class with the material and explains the novel before assigning it. She has sparked my interest in Eden Robinson's work and Canadian literature. Would definitely recommend her!

McKenzie is great! I'm not an english fan but she made the class interesting. You can tell she enjoys what she does! She is really funny and picks novels and stories that she really enjoys so she is enthusiastic about it. she really wants you to be in class!

She is a very nice lady but a tough marker. Not a heavy work load just a lot of reading. Gives long papers (10-12 pages) and a few quizzes. There was no final exam in this course, instead she got us to do a 50 minute oral presentation worth 20%. She has a lot of in class discussions where everyone has to participate (she will pick on you).

Well, what can I say about Steph? Firstly she is AMAZING! What a terrific lady. I got an A in the class, and her choice of novel was great: Michael Crummey...she kepth saying Crummer hahaha. But i think thats b/c she has a lot on her mind. Her use of diction is great, your vocab will certainly be expanded. Take her over any other proff!

Comment:

Brains, beauty and heart! Pushes us to the limit! Funny, Interesting, intelligent! However, Stephenie: The milk and cookies don't make up for making us read Tecumseh! Opened my eyes to the beginnings of Canadian Literature and helped me appreciate Canadian Literature so much more. Keep up the good work.

EXTREME grammar nazi. Marks at "Toronto University" level, no matter if your course is 1000, 2000, 0r higher. Would not recommend this prof for non-English majors, especially first years. She does not cover course material well and has an extreme tendency to go off on tangents. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

She's a great prof. The class sucked, but she really helped to improve my writing skills. She's a hard marker, but once you figure out what she's looking for, you can get really good marks with her. She's fair and allows you to rewrite papers to boost your grade. I'd definitely take her again!

A really sweet person, but not one of my favourite profs. I think her grading is really unfair. However, she leaves lots of notes to help you understand your mistakes which I appreciate, plus having her as a prof has helped me become more aware of my writing.
